he has time. Period He doesn’t have to buy time. That’s just impatient fans and he will get the time to do what needs to be done. If he’s five and seven in year four he will be gone but right right now is not even the time to discuss that
one oh line coach has an OC in front of his name which suggests he does not spend all his time on the offensive line. Since I have no idea what his duties are on a day-to-day basis, I would think that the other guy is the true offensive line coach.
Best thing I heard Coach Nape say in the presser is, last years freshman that played will now all have that experience coming into this year. Would love to see that pay dividends in the game outcomes this year. "At some point, your process has got to show production," i.e., wins. Urban. GO GATORS!!!!
He cannot survive a third consecuvite losing season. At that point you’re a certified incompetent. The same way folks are arguing that you cannot fire for the sake of firing, you cannot retain a guy who fails to produce a winning record after 3 years for the sake of retaining. Three years is more than enough time to produce a winning record and look competent in all aspects of the game. If those things have not happened in 3 years, extremely unlikely they happen on the 4th. What you see is what you get.
Personally, I think BN was not ready for big time football. I don't think many of the coaches/friends he has hired has worked out. Dispense with all of the excuses the roster he inherited not great but not back to back year losers. I would say the best thing going for him is his character and recruiting. To me he gets high marks for recruiting. To pull off as great of a class this year with back to back to back losing seasons (two of which is his) is imo remarkable. As to character, it's about wins and losses. IMO this is a put up or shut up year. As a gator fan I hope he succeeds. Do I have my doubts? Of course based off of the past two seasons of hiring and on field decisions. Time will tell.
I would have liked a bit more information from Napier giving us an early opinion of the different position groups, as to how they compare to last year. Strengths, depth etc. Yes he said this was his most 'talented" team (yet at UF) but he did not go into much definition or detail.
That and apparently whether he used exactly the words they liked at the press conference. Of course, they don't know what words they like, just that they don't like the words he used.
