Due to immediacy and relevance, it's a pretty clear choice for me. Curious to see how others feel.

    1. Russia is an enemy but is broke with an aged military and multiple times has become a failed state with a sickly autocrat leader... so only so dangerous
    2. China is an adversary more interested in beating us by cheating than interested in being our enemy and fighting a military war and they have an economy that is losing its wheels.
    3. North Korea is a nuisance but not dangerous except to itself
    4. Trump inspires the worst in the most powerful nation on the planet... that seems bad

Need to get our house in order first. Having a chief executive who puts the country first over party and personal gain means that the other adversaries listed above could be dealt with to the benefit of US citizens. So trump wins in a landslide.

who is responsible for propagating the division? DT might be the mouthpiece but he is not the driving force. Fox news? Maybe Murdoch and his ilk are the biggest threat to America with social media bots being a close second. sad to say, we are our own biggest threat, it's why Putin invested so heavily in creating internal division here.

Anyone who has read my posts over the last 6 years knows I despise Trump and consider him an existential threat to our democracy (along with most Republicans in the House).

I have read where there are those who claim they wouldn't piss on his face if it was on fire. But in all honesty, I believe I would. Actually, I would even if it wasn't on fire as well. ;)

It seems to me that there is no single identifiable cause for this or any big cultural movement. Fox News indeed pushes these narratives, but they wouldn’t exist if people weren’t tuning in. I think it is certain people wouldn’t tune in for just any kind of content. Fox News tests many ideas and sticks with the ones that get interest. The watching of Fox News probably changes interests in some way too, but the overall trend seems to be a complex circular phenomenon with the two entities influencing each other. And Trump is probably involved in a similar way.

The biggest threat to the US is our thirst for debt funded growth and low taxes.

No one should be worried about a single person with a finite life.

The biggest threat is the moral decay from within. We are our own worst enemy.

Right, same deal. I don’t think MSNBC causes people to inhabit liberal beliefs any more than liberal people cause MSNBC to show liberal programming.

MSMBC is a silly comp though.

It's just one small component of a sprawling network comprised of the greater MSN, Hollywood, TV celebrity cult, music celebrity cult, urban cult, academia, big tech social media, and establishment politicians.

Kids are getting bombarded from all angles with progressive indoctrination. Common sense doesn't stand a chance.

Hence we continue to spend our way to ruin, and anyone resisting gets mocked for their *stupidity*.

*The prevailing Orthodoxy must not be resisted.*

    Cest la vie.

^^^theis btw, is why I've been saying for years that our leadership must be controlled and puppeted by Bejing. It's suicidal.

...and while the talk of civil war seems laughable now (per the Orthodoxy), it's only laughable *now*, while the Fedl govmnt remains solvent.

Not at all, when it becomes a financial burden. Then it will fall apart rather...organically ( and hard as hell to preserve the union let alone restore when you're asking ppl to fight agsinst home and hearth and brother n sis...for promissory notes from insolvent entity).
