    Holy cow, batman!

    Shannon Terry (X):
"The projected spend for Roster Management for Collectives/Schools over the next 12 months for P5 College Football (only) is around $325 million. "Roster Value" remains around ~90% of the total NIL Market and Valuation for CFB players."

Tua was a sophomore in 2018.

May be true, but the exceptions FAR outweigh the norm.

They won it all in 17, lost to clemson in 18. He replaced the sophomore, hurts, in the 17 title game.

But he didn't run the table. And Bama under Saban didn'r rely on his QB to be a superstar. We don't have Alabama's skill players or OL and we damned sure don't have their defense. I would hate to see Lagway thrown to the wolves.

FYI, if you don't already know, Lagway is the Gatorade National Player of the Year.. He is FAR FAR FAR from the norm.

For how many rosters? Seems inexpensive to run a multibillion dollar bus.

There are plenty of busts from high rated recruits. In fact many disappoint, meaning they may be fine but not as good as rankings suggest.

I hope Lagway is elite but it’s definitely not a foregone conclusion.

I never said it's a foregone conclusion. I just pointed out that other true freshmen had great success, and player's today are playing earlier than in years past. I was taking the other side of what was said. No one can assume that because he is a freshman he won't have great success with the program early.

Not sure if he won it but RoPo was the #1 recruit and may have been the highest rated ever. He wasn’t bad but definitely didn’t achieve what we had hoped. RIP

John Brantley was a Gatorade national player of the year, hence the loaded question to begin with.

Of course, DJ received several awards; and it was because he had a MONSTER YEAR!!! I agree with you, he is far and away above the norm. Despite his achievement in 2023, he begins a whole different journey! The college game will be so much faster with bigger and better players--and all of us realize that! He is an amazing talent! The question is, cognitively, will he demonstrate a high football IQ and quickly adapt to learning the college game thing? I suspect BN will create packages for him, and we will likely find out what he can do in the fall. If the OL has early success and provides excellent protection for Mertz, perhaps GN won't really know what DJ can do. Once-in-a-great while, an exceptional talent comes along and excels as a quarterback! Cheers to Mr. Lagway!!!
