You can say it is word salad, but there are other factors that go into being manipulated such as emotional dispositions, flaws in character, personal insecurities, etc, that are not properly characterized as “intelligence.”

Very intelligent people can be played like a banjo if the person manipulating them knows the right chords to play. People are not computers that crunch facts. People are emotional beings. And emotional beings no matter how intelligent they are can be preyed upon and manipulated.

Think about the most frequent topic on this board…Trump. People’s sustained opposition to him is not grounded in intelligence. It is grounded in the stuff of manipulative emotional rhetoric. Or you could even say it is almost grounded in the stuff of religion and idolatry. The constant obsession with him is not rational. It is not intelligent even if many of the people who oppose him are intelligent. It comes across like a religion to me….kind of like how some Muslims have a religious hatred for Jews. Behavior like that is not a function of intelligence. And this can go both ways. Both sides are capable of this.

Not true, conservatives definitely want Trump, it's the Rino's and some moderates who don't

And the end of the day most republicans will come to their senses or sanity and vote for Trump over the dumb ass we currently have.

Italy is one of the early data sets that proves how ridiculous your statement was and is. Again. Even fauci would not make such an outrageous statement. And he did his best to scare people.

At least this time you started to get closer to the being truthful. This disease absolutely was dangerous to the elderly and those with comorbidities. Yet nowhere close to 5-10% outside the idiotic models that failed (well you can create the answer you want) miserably. And yet you think we would have to accept 5-10% of the population dying?

I get the propaganda. But wow. Just wow. It really is surprising you fell this badly for it.

Oh. And we had ways to treat. Much better ways now. And it did not take the spending and coercion that was used!

Thanks for helping to make the point: no one tricked or forced the gop to nominate Trump. They embraced him wholeheartedly and will continue to do so.

I know you have a great hatred for Trump and understand that, but Biden is just not nearly as sharp as he was just a few years ago. Just watch him, if he goes off teleprompter, he struggles to form sentences and remember what he is talking about. I'm sorry that is just the truth! I'm not saying Trump is the great either but, Biden's time has passed, and he needs to move on.

If people were honest, they would reach the exact same conclusion about Trump. He is on record making incohesive remarks, his comments reflect a strained ability to recall, and he mixes and matches people and issues and events. Age has caught up to him, as well. And thus for all those who condemn Biden because of age, if there is any intellectual consistency, Trump needs to be equally condemned.

I try to be mostly honest, lol, so I agree with you to a point. I guess where I would fall though, is if we have dumb and dumber as our only options, and I know there is at least potential that one is a better option to align policies with my thinking then I have to go that way.

I previously mentioned the most significant difference between Trump and Biden multiple times. Biden is and has demonstrated that he is much more likely to rely on his advisors. Trump on the other hand would govern as an absolute autocrat and would select advisors who are complete sycophants much more so than during his first term when he was less cognitively impaired. Trump represents the worst of all possible worlds, he's cognitively impaired, he has demonstrated that he has an extreme case of narcissistic personality disorder and he thinks that he knows everything about everything and will not accept any advice from subordinates who may have dissenting opinions.
