I'm sure many folks who travel around to these things are grifters while others are truly concerned about policies such as immigration. I also have little doubt that many others are primarily seeking a sense of community and purpose. That's sad to me not in a looking-down-on-them sort of way but just knowing how unseen and disconnected many people feel, particularly these days.
