Ukraine's arsenal of weapons capable of striking deep into Russia is growing larger and larger. It's almost like they are planning something . . .

I don’t know if this is a shaping operation for a future plan. This might be the plan for now. Keep causing casualties and damage in Russia’s rear areas, and force them to make the next move. As long as Ukraine is willing take major military operations, then Putin can say (just like some others on here) “Why should I do anything if they’re going to come to me?” But what if Ukraine goes defensive and keeps cutting Russia with deep attacks? Can Russia just sit there and take it? After all, Russia’s political position is that Ukraine is currently sitting on territory that Russia claims to have annexed (Kherson and Kharkiv, specifically). At some point, they’ve got to go get it or they lose credibility. But Russia has not tried a major offensive operation in almost two years, and their minor pushes (Bakhmut and Avdiivka) have led to disproportionate Russian casualties. So what do they do? It might not be a bad Ukrainian strategy while the Republicans pull their heads out of their asses and start putting country above party again.

it bounced off a sharp decline, after Putin propped up the ruble. 1 year graph shows a better picture. Article below explains what Russia did including raising int rates during that period. their rates are now at 16%.

    USD vs Ruble

    upload_2024-2-4_19-13-55.png

“The rouble has strengthened sharply since a President Vladimir Putin decree on the mandatory sale of foreign currency for certain exporters was announced last month. The central bank's sharper-than-expected rate hike to 15% <now 16%> in late October also helped the rouble hit a three-month high of 91.6225 this week.”

No, the Republicans in the House are playing games. They’re also holding up funding for the border and Israel. According to your “logic” the American people don’t support those either.

There have been multiple polls released in the past six months that show a plurality and/or a majority of American people think we are already doing too much in Ukraine.

    Harmonize …

“Russia has lost hundreds of thousands of troops and most of its military hardware in Ukraine.”

“Russia is a present threat to Europe.”

Crimea 'Trap' To Sink Russian Warship Revealed in Ukraine Sea Drones Video (newsweek.com)

Ukraine's Defense Ministry published nighttime footage purportedly showing the moment six sea drones attacked the Russian missile-armed corvette Ivanovets in the harbor of Lake Donuzlav. Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency, told The War Zone that the vessel was struck by six MAGURA V5 sea drones that "sent it to the bottom of the Black Sea."
    ..........
"During the destruction of the specified ship, six direct hits by naval drones were made to the hull of the ship. As a result of the damage, the ship rolled astern and sank. According to preliminary data, the search and rescue operation conducted by the enemy was not successful," he said.
    ....................
"The 56-meter-long vessel was caught in a trap 9 kilometers from the entrance to Lake Donuzlav, near the village of Okunevka, in the Black Sea region," the VChK-OGPU outlet, which purports to have inside information from Russian security forces, reported on Thursday of the attack on the Ivanovets.
    ...............
"The well-chosen attack tactics of the Group 13 commanders is admirable—the first drone hit the stern of the boat from the starboard side in order to disable the propellers. The boat was unable to reach full speed, but did not stop. Then the second drone also hit the propellers, but from the left side. With these two blows, the boat was reliably deprived of movement and maneuver."

Top Russian Official Killed in HIMARS Strike on Lysychansk Bakery: Moscow (msn.com)

Atop Russian official was killed in a strike by Ukraine at a bakery in the Russian-occupied city of Lysychansk in Ukraine's Luhansk region, officials announced on Monday.

Alexey Poteleshchenko was the Kremlin-installed minister of emergency situations in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic [LPR] in Ukraine's Donbas region. He died in the attack on Saturday, Russian state-run news agencies RIA Novosti and Tass reported, citing sources. Newsweek has contacted Ukraine's Foreign Ministry for comment by email.
    ................................................
On January 26, a video circulating on social media appeared to show the moment Kyiv's forces attacked a group of drone pilots at a Russian military training ground in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region with HIMARS.

Russian military blogger Vladimir Romanov first reported the attack, saying it killed 24 drone operators near the city of Ilovaisk.

I listened to an interesting podcast how Ukrainian gov is attempting to promote & fund drone development across the country. Doesn’t take a lot of capital to build small quantities. They are a “poor man’s” arsenal and proving to be most effective.

    recent Russian losses…..
“On Saturday, they lost at least 54. Another 16 were damaged. Saturday was, in other words, one of the worst days of the war for Moscow.

In the assault, Russian forces reportedly came under attack from Ukrainian drones and sustained heavy losses, losing a column of armored vehicles, including several T-72 tanks and fighting vehicles.

Russian military bloggers have hit out at Kremlin propagandists after they ignored recent "blunders" made by the Russian army, “

We should do a Go Fund Me for Drones for Ukraine until Mike Johnson manages to get his hands on those negatives and destroy them.

Drones are changing warfare rapidly, even moreso than anticipated, IMO. Especially combined with AI

The United States, which has placed so much emphasis on totally "owning the skies" in any airspace it wants to operate in, no longer has that luxury. It's gone. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying to your face or is basing their opinion on what was, not what is, and especially not on what's about to come. Don't take my word for it, take that of America's top commanders.

The loss of this critical edge is not due to next-generation stealth fighters that cost many billions to develop and produce or advanced air defense systems that fire missiles with multi-million dollar price tags. While U.S. supremacy in these areas has been degraded too, the loss of owning the skies is a result of everything from off-the-shelf drones that are modified into weapons to long-range one-way attack 'kamikaze' drones that have 'democratized' the access to precision aerial strike capabilities, even at standoff ranges deep into highly contested territory.

In other words, total air superiority has been lost by the most 'unsexy' and accessible of capabilities.

It also raises the disturbing prospect of such drones being used by bad actors on the home front. As if mass shootings haven't been bad enough. We can't harden every potential target in an open society.

Exactly. And a very good reason to get this war to end (with a Russian defeat) as soon as possible. If it ends with a Russian win, they use the advancements and make themselves more dangerous for the next war they decide is necessary, and they sell the military hardware and technology to anyone that can afford it. If Ukraine wins, there is a very good chance that we can convince them to keep their advancements to themselves. The genie is partly out of the bottle in that Iran is already one of the biggest manufacturers of drones, and they will hand out weapons to anyone who wants to kill westerners. Either way, we will be seeing some terrorist attacks in the U.S. with this new technology--the questions are, what size attack, and what frequency? I guarantee you that after the first attack, republican traitors in Congress will get on the bandwagon demanding the democrats do something about the terrorism that they (the republicans) helped create with their cowardly refusal to support Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian sources (as parroted herein) Russia has lost more troops than it has ever had on the frontlines, the entire war, but it is so wreaking havoc in Ukraine that it has to be stopped!

Agree and I think this issue is sorely underestimated. IMO, the NATO military industrial (including the USA) complex will rapidly and fundamentally change.

Emphasis on large armored vehicles, and advanced piloted aircraft, will be curtailed for an assortment of un manned drone type systems. I suspect this will impact navies as well.

Mid to late 21st century warfare will be video gameish.

The sanctions that were imposed to turn the ruble to rubble actually made the ruble so strong that the Russian Central Bank had to step in and weaken it. I guess this was done to increase Russian exports. Not sure as I'm not an economist (just a simple Russian troll posting from Moscow).

Not sure what WarDamnGator is trying to do with his chart. The time frame of the chart seems like it was chosen to mislead. Chart should begin when the sanctions were imposed or earlier, not months after they took effect imo
