They could if the players and the union come too hard with demands. Also ivy sports don't generate revenue so it could also only pay minimum wage.
New Hampshire minimum wage is 7.25 an hr.

I do care about the game, though. I like to see a good matchup. I’m just not upset at a loss, and not happy about a win. I just like to see good games. If the game sucks, then yes, I am only concerned with the fantasy points. By default, I tend to somewhat root for the teams that my fantasy players are on. It’s not intentional, but it just kind of happens.

But playing fantasy has its own cool non-traditional things to root for and it makes it much more complex and interesting than simply who wins or loses the game.

You don’t want blowouts… you want close games usually. If you’re up, you’re rooting against a team if your opponent has them. Rooting for drives to end… a defensive stop to prevent a FG… one last catch by a receiver in garbage time.

Makes it so much more fun, IMO, and this whole narrative about it not being real fandom unless you are rooting for a particular team isn’t really fair.

Transferring is the one thing that they got right. A player should be able to transfer freely on a one year scholarship
Make scholarships for 2 or 3:yrs and I would agree to sitting out if you leave before it expires.

Have you seen what the NFL is sponsoring the night before the Super Bowl? That's just one small sample/group of the BS special interests that the NFL is pandering to.

Might be interesting giving options.....guarantee 2-3-4 years but no free transfer during those guaranteed seasons

Having the Feds involved is like hiring the 3 Stooges to build your house. It is inept, corrupt and bloated to the point of self destruction, like the 600 lb guy who eats donuts all day, cant get out of bed but gives opinions on everything.

The solution is for the major colleges, the top 60-75, to step out of the world of the NCAA, states, and the Feds and create their own organization....no not a spin off of the NCAA, but something new from ground up. Ways for players of ALL sports to benefit, while also providing a very manageable and fair system without chaos and cheating.

I wonder if most of us at least agree the NIL and TP is WAY out of hand! I agree with you. TP athletes have proven their worth, but how does a HS kid get $8 million to play football in Knoxville and he's never played at the collegiate level? It seems that certain schools will eventually be outbuying everyone else for championships. Consequently, the schools with the most $$ consistently wins. And, perhaps, the definition of bluebloods will need to be revised?

we don’t need the government involved, but I hate to say that the NFL model is a hell of a lot better than what we have right now.

If there are collective bargaining agreements, then there are contracts, and they cannot transfer whenever the hell they want

I thought Alabama had been buying championships for the last 15 years? The only difference I see is that the championships are more expensive than the ones Alabama bought.

I’m sure you realize that college players didn’t make 50 million bucks to be the quarterback and the NFL has become a bunch of free agents chasing after money. Players used to be identified with a team, and now people are more fans of players, because the players never stay the same team for their entire career. Historically for the last 30 or 40 years. There has been a big difference between the NFL and college and they are getting closer and closer to the exact same thing. I’ve quit watching the NFL over the last 15 years or so I guess. I’ve almost become an exclusive college football fan, and very rarely watch the NFL anymore. Some people like both and for some it won’t make a very big difference. I’m not sure that I will be interested in college football nearly as much as I used to be.

Tell that to the superstar QB's right out of high school that can make unlimited money on their Name, Image and Likeness...

If I were a college athlete/football player would I want a union telling me how much I can and cannot make? HAIL FREAKING NO! I don't want to give them my ca$h... NOT ONE SINGLE PENNY.

The government is involved whether we like it or not. At both the state and federal level.

The nfl model won’t fix college football. We’re not going to have a college draft. You have no way to limit the third part money than runs deep in the college ranks. Contracts might help some, but bidding wars will remain and cap’s won’t limit anything.
