My opinion, for whatever it's worth, is that UF did the right thing. But given that KJ did eventually play college ball again, it just seems like he should have moved on sooner. Not to mention the fact that in the end, Keyontae not being able to play certainly hurt coach Mike White's standing (no fault of his) and that *may* have led to him leaving the program sooner rather than later. For the record, I'm not interested in debating whether UF should have cleared the young man or not. All the best to Keyontae. Oh, and Go Gators!

Lol, I’m not offended. I just think you’re being ridiculous. Continuing to bring it up across multiple threads isn’t going to change UF’s position on the matter. It’s over and done. Life goes on. Again I ask, what are you hoping to accomplish now by bringing up across multiple threads? You want people to acknowledge that you said he should be allowed to play? It’s acknowledged.

Anyone who’s followed UF athletics for any length of time could see pretty early on that Key probably wasn’t going go be cleared to play here. Arguing about why he should or shouldn’t be cleared was a futile exercise because none of us ever had any sway over that decision. Arguing about it now is even more futile now than it was then.

Your stance that people got spicy with you and now acting like you’re owed some kind of retribution is petty, and also kind of off target. Most people just understood that UF wasn’t going to clear him. If conversations got heated, it was likely because you refused to accept that. You still refuse to accept it even though it actually happened, years ago at this point. Nobody was rooting against Key. Even those whose stance was that they thought he should take the money and hang up his J’s weren’t rooting against him.

Just be happy for him. UF didn’t clear him. Someone else did. He’s healthy and doing what he always wanted to do. Go Key!

This makes no sense. UF no longer has a position in the matter which could be changed. Straw man.

Am I arguing it? I am allowed to make a comment about it here and there if I feel like it. If you choose to engage me on it and an argument develops, you are just as much to blame as I am.

That is not my stance. I just remember it and I don't like the accusations made against me at the time. Nobody owes me anything, but I don't have to forget the vitriol.

False. Conversations got heated because people attacked me for being on Key's side and thinking he should be allowed to play. It wasn't about not understanding or knowing "what" UF's decision was or would be.

I don't need your advice on how I should feel about anything, but I am happy for him. If it was up to many of you, he would not be doing what he always wanted to do, so I find it bizarre that all of a sudden, it's "Go Key!" when you all didn't want him to play at UF and didn't think he should play in the pros. The switch up is amazing.

Right, it happened. None of us here had any control over it.

You keep repeatedly bringing it up across multiple threads. Are you not hoping to invoke a response?

You seem to want some kind of recognition.

I am sorry that happened to you. Any conversation I had with you would have simply been about the fact that UF was unlikely to clear him. I would have wasted little time arguing about whether he should or shouldn’t have been cleared, only that he wouldn’t.

When did I ever not want him to play for UF? I hated watching him leave us and go tear it up somewhere else. I simply understood early on it was unlikely UF was ever going to clear him and then understood when they didn’t. I always wanted him to play for us and, if he could be cleared, finish his college career in Gainesville. I didn’t throw a fit about it not happening here, but that doesn’t mean I got what I wanted. It was never anything but “Go Key!” for me.

How do we know that UF would not have cleared Keyontae to play last season? I thought I read somewhere that when Keyontae was finally diagnosed with his medical issue, he had some sort of pacemaker type implant that allowed him to continue to play. If that was the case, maybe Florida did or would have cleared him to play last season.

Im just happy for Key. Why does it have to be...."na na na na boo boo..I TOLD YOU!!!!" Moments on whether UF did the right thing or not. Like it or not, thid id how UF has always operated (by taking the conservativr approach). I rather be happy for the kid versus getting into an "I told you so" match

I only said that AFTER other posters came in and re-started the argument. Read the thread. At least be fair in your criticism. Why can they say what they want, but then I have to be silent?

In fact, I even said... "ah the What if guys are back" before I responded to them.

I mention it once in awhile. Am I breaking any forum rules? You seem to want to talk about it, so why are you asking me to keep quiet. There is no obligation for you to respond. I don't recall ever asking you to not talk about it.

Once in a while? Lol. You brought it up in multiple threads just in this last week and even started this thread. You’re not looking for a response?

I’m not asking you to keep quiet, just suggesting it might be better to move on. If you want to keep bringing it up, have at it. Just don’t be shocked when you get a response. Everyone who didn’t take your exact position on this matter is not anti-key. They also aren’t all wrong.

Convenient... suggesting that I move on, while you say whatever you and others continue to say what you want on the subject. Why aren't you suggesting that people who think like you move on? Do they have to respond? Do you?

Who said I'm shocked that people respond?

Funny... I'm not the one whining about people talking about it or suggesting that they stop responding. You are. Talk as much or as little about it as you want. I'm not the one here trying to police people's responses.

Nobody else is continuing to bring it up. Someone else started a thread on him killing it in g league. You’re the only one who continues to bring up him not being medically cleared. I don’t have to respond, but I’m certainly allowed to. If you weren’t constantly bringing up whether he was cleared or not and trying to shame other posters who didn’t have your exact same position, I wouldn’t be talking about it.

Nobody said you’re shocked. I just said don’t be.

You’re the only one whining about it at all. Nobody else is bringing up the fact that he wasn’t cleared by UF. You’re the one that keeps trying to start that conversation. You did it in the game thread. You did it in the other thread congratulating him. You’re doing it in this thread.

Is it appropriate at this time to bring up Ques Glover?

This was your first post in the thread made last week congratulating him. The first person to mention him not being cleared. This is what you want to talk about. Not that he’s healthy and doing well, you led with the fact that you were slighted. The reason you get the come on mans and disagrees isn’t because you wanted Key to be able to play, it’s because you tried to make everyone else out to be a bad person who is somehow against Key. Nobody here is against Key, man. Everyone here wanted him to be healthy and prosperous.

Yeah... I mention it here and there, and I stand by it. I'll continue to do it as I please as long as I'm not breaking forum rules or attacking anyone. If it's not about you, and it doesn't apply, why does it bother you?

The entirety of my OP was a simple, "Congrats Key!"

It was another poster who started the debate about what happened and then another one chimed in, so it's very interesting that you didn't say anything to them.

Now, if you want to catch feelings about my thread title... it's just an indisputable fact. A guy who UF wouldn't clear made the NBA G-League all star game. What's the problem with that?

Check the 4th and 5th posts of this thread and see if you still think you are correct about this.
