My goodness, this has been such a disappointing season. We've seen an upgrade in talent, but that hasn't translated to wins on the court.
I believe we have had some injuries..Kyle hasn't played in several games.. And lsu is #7 I think they may make the WNIT..
They are #7..top ten and on their court And Kyle isn't playing ...Matharu has been ill the last few games...been trying to get healthy
It's too hard to predict. Teams like Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn are up and down depending on the game. Miss. State and Ole Miss seem pretty locked in. Best chance is to sweep the 3 games against the teams that are below us(Kentucky, Missouri, Georgia) in the standings and hopefully steal a win against one of those up-and-down teams.
Pretty much everyone behind South Carolina and LSU (only when they bring their A-game) is evenly matched. Good coaching and execution is what allows teams like Ole Miss to separate themselves from the pack. That's why this squad is in the situation they are in, poor execution on both offense and defense.
It has been discouraging for sure. We still need an upgrade in post play, numbers wise and talent wise, to get where we need to be. Our portal class last year was lacking. Zippy just hasn't been the same after her injury. A lot of variables but what we need most IMO is to hire someone on staff that is proven. We have assembled a great recruiting staff. Just haven't seen much X and O wise. Next year is going to tell us if this approach will work. We cannot go backward 3 years in a row.
And poor coaching. This is basically the Newbauer staff wrapped up in a pretty bow by Stricklin. He should have cleaned house.
