I actually think the pump fake is what messed him up. It was open initially and he took an unnecessary pump fake which caused him to rush the actual shot.

 

9 point differential in free throws. If the UF administration had any balls, we would get home cooking like that as well.

 

TAMU was playing lock down defense. Not making an excuse, but they were playing inspired. We jacked up late clock threes for the first 12 minutes of the second half. You're right though... our guards have to be able to take the ball off the dribble and either get the foul or make the shot. That's basically what TAMU's whole offense was. Throw Taylor and the Felon at the rim and get the foul or the basket.

 

Guys had plenty of legs...they were told to slow it down.

 

Ugh. Horrible second half. Bad shot after bad shot. So much talent to have that second half. Tam not very good at all. Just when you thought we found something... now we're right back in the malaise. GG!!

Sure. I'm not arguing that. But every night of the week you can find games where big leads dwindle for good teams. It happens in college all the time. That's college basketball. I can't be mad at two open looks. It sucks we didn't hit it. Winning away is hard in the SEC.

 

Week off and catching Auburn at home, got them after Bama and before usce, should be a good spot for the good guys

They scored 15 points to our 6.......that's where we lost the game........

It was a good thing that Kentucky never played a zone against Florida.

Teams like Texas AM that don't have talent like to win games by getting to the free-throw line - hoping that the refs can bail them out because they cannot legitimately shoot it into the basket unless it is from the free throw line.

Our players need to develop that skill of drawing a foul when attacking the basket and not settle for jump-shots.

 

And just how would that go down? Just have Stricklin meet with the SEC commissioner and tell him we expect the game officials to make the calls in our favor?

 

There was no fun in the second half...kill the clock killed the fun. We could have scored 100.
