Plus, I have a good feeling both will be back next year to Gainesville unlike many other teams who lose their best recruits to transfer portal.
I sincerely hope so. I think Condon especially is going to get a lot of interest and NIL offers from other big name basketball programs. Riley, too. Good thing Headband Jr can’t go anywhere except the NBA until graduation, because there would probably be a bidding war.
Until further notice, I will NOT believe any player (basketball or football) leaves UF because we got outbid for their services. If they are a Condon, the Brain Trust will do what it takes. And to that, I believe Golden selects players who want to learn and not want to make as much pizza money as possible. Rashada never made it to campus. Etn left because he did not want to do what he needed to do to win the starting job (blitz pickups). Perhaps Tarquin got "bought" but he was a Mullen guy and not Napier's. No real loyalty there. Nembhard got bought or did he see that White was not helping him get to the NBA? If anything, Kugel will leave because he wants a re-boot and not because he is SO valuable that someone makes him a "strong-ass offer." You think Clayton was a "mini-bum" and had to settle for UF/Golden and he would now be primed for a HUGE payday if he had more eligibility? REALLY??? Tell me, who WAS USDA Prime on the team and magically found a "better" (read higher paying) team to play with?
Well, I was trying to take my O&B glasses for a little while, because I tend to think that everyone wants to be here because we are just the best. I think Headband wants to be here and loves it. That said, I'm just thinking of how big dollars getting thrown in someone's face... especially now that he has a family to feed is a big draw. Definitely not attacking his character, because as you all know I've probably been his biggest cheerleader in the forum from day 1. I like a all of our guys and hope they stay, but statistics say that players leave even the best programs and situations.
Score more than the other guy. No team should have more points in the paint than us so there's a clue.
I hate to say it, but I thought that UF’s coaching yesterday was horrific. Do we have any kind of zone defense in our system? Their guards were able to drive to the hoop all game long and score or get fouled. Did we make any adjustments?
Until we get absolutely blown out by a SWAC school and embarrassed on our home floor, I say we be patient with our coach. Give him time.
But you can turn it around in the second year look at South Carolina. A lot of basketball left so we might be very happy
