Self evident. Gators first team out KY a 5 seed.

We have to wait until the end of the season to see if he is a moron or not?

Kentucky as a 5 seed is where they should be.
    Gators are seriously disrespected.

Palm, who has a long history of hating on the Gators, has Florida as an 8 seed.

Ah man, too bad the season ends today and we're out of the tournament. Oh well, maybe next year. ;)

We'll be fine. Things will settle. And doesn't Lunardi have like a 99% accuracy rate? He's not moron, ya'll.

That is pretty highly inflated. For example, he would include Purdue being in the tournament as a success this year. Well, yeah, that would be right, but I am pretty sure that a person who has never watched a game of college basketball could figure that one out based on rankings. Every college tournament champion, guaranteed a birth, counts as a "success." The question is really how accurate he is on the last 3 or 4 teams at-large teams, basically. Not sure that it is fair to call him a "moron" (as I don't know how his success lines up with other predictors), but I've always disliked the way that ESPN and he use that stat.

We are going to be a polarizing team with prognosticators until those Q1 wins stack up.

Maybe Lunardi thinks that the committee still looks at RPI. We kind of suck there but so does UK.

This is after every last conference tournament is played so pretty had not to get them all correct give or take one. Now if he also nails the seeding and Regionals at that rate I would be impressed.

If Florida keeps winning, I think that the Gators will eventually be a higher seed than an 8 seed. There are still many games (> 10) left in the season.

probably moments before Selection Sunday show

go 7-3 or 8-2 (my pick) for last 10 and we're looking at a 5-6 seed. Go 8-2 and 3-1 in SECt, 4-5 seed

He is usually pretty accurate. Suspect we were too low in his previous picks to bump us up too much. In any event, his opinion is utterly irrelevant to what actually happens.

23 brackets have been posted since we beat UK, 20 of them have us in.
Lunardi is off on this one, he’s relying too much on quad 1. Every other metric has us in comfortably.

I want to disagree with this, but there is likely a certain amount of truth to it. OTOH, there are several highly ranked teams that have not played many Q1 games AND have mediocre/bad Q1 records.

    Team..........ranking.................Q1
    Auburn........AP#16/Net#8..........0-4
    Utah St........AP#17/Net#20........1-2
    NewMex.......AP#19/Net#19........2-2
    IndianaSt.....Net#24...................1-3
    Gonzaga.......Net#26..................0-4
    Colorado.......Net#31..................1-3

All of the above are ranked higher in NET than UF, yet none of them have played as many Q1 games (UF has played 7).

Alabama is 3-4 in Q1 and this source suggests that the committee has them as a #1 seed. Auburn, which has looked good in a few games, but also lost to Appy St (Net #73) is probably in for a reality check. After losing two of the last three, they get:

    at MS
    vs AL
    at FL
    vs SC
    vs KY

Let's see how they do in these five. The Gators, OTOH, have faced our five-game gauntlet and are in the midst of a three-gamer before getting a bit of an easier conf schedule.

Good synopsis. UF can really do itself a big favor by winning the next two games. So frustrating to know that we had very winnable losses against Baylor and UK (at home). We’d arguably be a top 10 team.

That is shocking. Palm normally has us as a 10 if Lunardi has us as a 5. Idk what Florida did to him, but maybe it’s starting to wear off.
