    As my middle will be able to go with her school to Washington DC (with no Covid Shots). No more idiotic policies. And while she is there we found this out yesterday….

    Super excited for and proud of her for getting this honor that she really wanted. I never saw the email she sent. Just provided her information on our family members that have served this Great Nation.

    There is a good chance I will fly up the day before and fly back right after the ceremony (take in what I can before having to get over to DCA) as it is less than $200 for the round trip and I have a credit because…you guessed it. Covid and having to cancel our family trip to Chicago in 2020. With Hilton points and the credit I will have food and Lyft expenses for the quick trip.

    Thank you to all who have served are serving and will serve this Great Nation!

    Vax thread. No one cares whether you or your kids are vaccinated against the flu or covid. Why are you looking for validation? Just do your thing.

    This is a two fold thread about Covid and the idiotic policies that so many here get up in arms about.

    And more importantly what this Great Nation stands for and how it lost its way the last few years. Thankfully we can start to move on from the insanity. No matter what your beliefs. This country stands for freedom. And during Covid we tested the idea of removing freedom. But we stood strong. And I am super excited my middle will get this amazing opportunity to recognize the heroes of this Great Nation in ceremony!

    Yes, the Nazis were well known for gently reminding people that revealing personal info without permission might be uncool or could be used maliciously. Maybe your kids teacher doesnt mind, but I dont think that email was intended to be put on blast to a bunch of strangers, but thats just me. For someone who's probably screamed about HIPAA at some point, I'd think you'd get that.

    I'm not triggered either. The OP, on the other hand? Still complaining that the biggest healthcare crisis in over a century disrupted his plans four years ago? I'd call that triggered. Who cares is COVID quickly became the third leading cause of death and killed millions! I wanted to go on my trip. Wah wah wah...

    And also over COVID, in large part thanks to the vaccine. Which, by the way, the latest is 54% effective against getting COVID. I'm happy my family and I all got a booster, especially before visiting my octogenarian parent who has immune issues and cannot get a COVID shot. My parent was just approved for hospice care, so there's not a lot of time left. Might have been even shorter had we had COVID and given it to her. We significantly reduced the odds of that happening, and all it took was about 30 minutes in Walgreens.

    Last, the OP should be proud of his child. This is an honor. Why he had to make it about COVID? I have no idea.

    Just stop. You are digging deeper for no reason.

    Want to discuss the freedoms this country stands for or something like that...cool. But you are looking foolish here. Oh...and the school has the permission to post the video of the ceremony if they choose when they video it.

    If debate happened that would be fine. But more to point out what happened and show that this Great Nation is going to win the battle against what we saw the last few years. Along with add a personal story that is super cool imo...

    The covid part was not really meant to be a trap but more to get engagement. But I understand 100% with how many view me and that it could be taken as a trap. I took a lot of crap for calling out DC when my oldest and her peers missed out on their DC trip.
