So, we're going to hit some of their proxies. We "don't know for sure" whether Tehran was aware of the drone attack plot. We just know that the people responsible are paid for and there because Iran put them there. Therefore, we won't hit Iran proper. Some of their fledgling proxies are in for it though!!!!!!
What amuses/saddens me is how the mainstream media is already pimping Old Joe. CNN's headline crows about how "people within the administration say..." that Iran was caught completely unprepared for our retaliatory drone strikes. Words like "devastating" and "stunning" were used. Well, if you take your story/Editorial directly from the politician's mouth it's going to sound super rosey and All-American. I'm amused because it's so patently obvious. I'm saddened because most people get their news in snippets and never see the underlying issue after the headline.
Yeah, let's go to war against Iran. Which will be a perfect time for China to attack Taiwan, which we're supposed to defend. Meanwhile Russia finishes off Ukraine and goes to work on NATO, which we're supposed to fight for also. Hot dog, World War III is just around the corner!
Propaganda, wrapped in propaganda, wrapped in more propaganda. I bet Israel keeps bombing Gaza until the Election, at the very least. Netanyahu hates Biden for caving on Iran and giving them legitimacy. Blames Biden for the Oct 7th attacks. The Middle East has descended into chaos under Biden.
Right, Biden is to blame for Oct. 7. Netanyahu is not to be blamed at all for being caught with his pants down. From what I've heard Israelis are pretty pissed at Bibi, not at Joe Biden. It's just too bad that the trial of Netanyahu for corruption is just a myth that someone started years ago. If there was really a trial maybe they could get rid of his genocidal ass.
Biden and Bibi are both to blame. Biden winks and nods as tens of thousands of innocent lives are taken in Gaza. Bibi hates Biden for empowering Iran. Bibi has zero respect for Biden and his weak, old ass feeble ways.
I agree that Biden (which mean the U.S.) is a party to genocide. But am I correct that you want war with Iran? I suppose that indeed it's about time for another good war. The beast, the MIC, must be fed!
No, sir. I do not want war with Iran. I do want them squeezed hard though. Not legitimized. Besides, I think it would take an awful lot to bring Iran into a full-scale war. Their military blows billy goats and they know it. But in any case, tip toeing around on eggshells is not the answer. Allowing more money to flow back to them is not the answer. Hitting their proxies is akin to a whack-a-mole strategy.
While I don’t think going to war with Iran will happen, China would like to get Taiwan back at that would be an ideal time. Russia can barely handle Ukraine, they aren’t going after NATO now or in the foreseeable future
Really? If you haven't heard, Ukraine is running out of ammunition. Russia will handle it easily with the help of America's Republicans.
The Middle East is a mess as always. Given what’s happening in the rest of the world I hesitate to want the US expanding a third global front when they’re already facing China in the pacific and trying to keep Ukraine alive against Russia. where I think Biden is misplaying this is at home. We should be using this as another reason to mobilize defense production for war time and make republicans open the purse strings.we should be screaming at them daily about it. Not just for ukraine, but in preparation for China, and yes, for preparation for finally snuffing out Iran. but the last thing we should do is run Willy nilly into a Middle East meat grinder given the other things at stake without some broader plan for responding to an expanding global conflict. And honestly if the US blasts in like a wrecking ball it makes it harder to get Israel to hit the “wrap it up” button and Biden really needs them to wrap it up. so fine, yeah, blow up some proxies. But we should be preparing for a long term wider conflict and I still don’t see us doing that with enough urgency. In so far as the op says we should be doing more, what leverage does the Us have to lean on Iran? Outside of war? I guess we could try to further restrict trade. But with China and Russia and BRICS all unwilling to support that it seems pointless and performative. And with Israel continuing to be a little rabid we don’t even have the support of the west to be too aggressive elsewhere in the mid east.
I see this board is transitioning from Russia getting whipped to Russia handling Ukraine, if only barely. I foresee more transitioning in the coming months.
And I’d be shocked if China invades Taiwan any time soon. Why would they need to apart from some provocation from the US (which would not shock me). China and Taiwan are major trade partners and, at last check, Taiwanese weren’t hung-ho on independence.
You want to go to war? As a Servicemember, I’ll do my duty, but I really don’t feel like going to fight in the Middle East again just because warhawks want to see us blow up Iran.
One of the thing Trump supporters like to boast about is him keeping us out of wars. I guess that was all bluster.
And Trump wants to be sure that Biden gets nothing done about the border crisis, so he can accuse Biden of getting nothing done. The Republicans are therefore under orders. People worry about Trump being a dictator if elected. (“Just for a day,” he says.) Ha ha ha. He’s a dictator already, elected to nothing yet.
