You are what you are... sad.. and intransigent in your flawed view of Freedom and Liberty.

You mean like don’t say gay laws? Or sending national guard troops to the border who can’t do anything?

So is it your position that all countries south of our border are not safe, and thus anybody south of our border should be able to come and live here? Is there any theoretical limit to how many we can allow in?

Mexico is actually pretty safe right now with a strong economy. More immigrants are coming from countries other than Mexico right now. And before you complain, Mexico took in over 125,000 asylum seekers last year too.

I honestly don't know what the right limit of migrants is. I support letting the market decide. I think immigrants who are denied asylum should be allowed to stay on a guest worker Visa. If they are gainfully employed, let them stay. And at current, with 3 million more job openings than unemployed, we need workers.

The labor market also generally self regulates. The last recession in 2010 saw a reduction in the undocumented population by about 2 million.

A Gang of 8 style plan is what we need. Anything and everything else won't work.

    Bottom of a pint glass
The ERTC thing is wild, and I'm glad they're probably ending it. All these pop up companies soliciting filing for your business. They don't give a shit cause when the IRS audits the paperwork in a few years they're already long gone. The program is being CRAZY abused. We get multiple emails and calls a day

    I
I totally agree with 'remain in Mexico'. My problem is what to do with legitimate asylum seekers, and how to determine it. A part of me also sometimes wants to say: "you got problems in you country, then fix them!"

This entire issue is fraught.....and disgustingly politicized.

What is your solution? Not being snide; serious question.

Gang of 8 style plan where entrants can still seek asylum if they wish. But if they pass a background check, can start paying for a guest worker visa and stay in the country as long as they are current on their Visa and gainfully employed. They can bypass the asylum if they want to go straight to guest worker. If they choose asylum, if denied, stay on GW Visa. If approved, they get their Visa money back.

We also need to build infrastructure on our side of the border to house the migrants as they wait to be processed. No lawful entry without signing up, background check, ITIN issues, etc. Immigrants already here can do this either online or we can set up dates/times/locations to help.

We have 8 million undocumented in our work force. If we charged just $5/week for a Guest Visa, that would generate over $2 billion in tax revenues we could use to ensure migrants on work visas are actually working. Could also use this money to add more agents, build the infrastructure on the border we need, and for better tech to stop things like drug smugglers.
