First off, let's note that this thread wasn't started by a man and that there are, in fact, plenty of women who have a problem with the Taylor Swift/football thing. So, why is only men who are "sad and pathetic"? No mention of "sad and pathetic women"?

Secondly, I don't watch a whole lot of sports, anymore, so I can only name one other female celebrity(Ashley Judd) that I've seen at a sporting event but I find it hard to believe that Taylor Swift and Ashley Judd are the only two attractive female celebrities to EVER be shown on camera at a sporting event and, yet, that's what he seems to be implying when he only names male celebrities.

Thirdly, it's not an issue for me because I don't follow sports too much anymore but, if I were going to guess, my guess would be that the issue is Swift/Kelce fatigue more than actual hatred/dislike. Back in the 90s I had a bad case of Michael Jordan fatigue but 25 years later I have a lot more appreciation for the guy.

Finally, I think it's highly unlikely that this relationship is gonna be forever. No, I think it's far more likely to go down in flames.

First off, I don't think Cowherd was responding to GatorPrincess, more likely a bunch of Tweets from male Xers.

Secondly, he was specifically addressing the males who caught his attention. I'm willing to bet Cowherd is aware of far more that two attractive women that have ever attended sporting events. Suggesting he was implying there were only two is silly.

Thirdly, you are absolutely incorrect if you think it's not primarily hatred/dislike on the part of MAGA Nation. Watch:

First off, I understand that and just, so we're clear, my other post was not intended as a shot the OP. The point is that there are plenty of women who have a problem with TS as well and I'm sure that he knows it. I don't think that having a problem with all the hype surrounding TK/TS is automatically "sad and pathetic" but he, apparently, does.
Secondly, if there are other attractive female celebrities at sporting events who have not been similarly "hated" on then that kind of pokes a hole in his "sad pathetic men" theory. Which, I suspect, is why he neglected to mention any other attractive female celebrities who attend sporting events.
Thirdly, I guess it depends on what you mean by "hate/dislike". When I use, or hear, one of those words I think of it terms of personal animosity. I skimmed through the video and watched the parts that had someone from Fox on the screen. I didn't see anything that I consider personal.

If Biden were smart at his events he’d he’d let TS perform and then he can come on stage wave hi, then wave bye.

His aides should probably constantly remind him not to sniff her hair.

I cannot believe this thread is still going. I guess I should feel uplifted that in during this era where we may lose American democracy and with rapid climate change and the possibility of war all over the middle east, this is what we seem to obsess about

It's obviously Swift/Kelce fatigue. Colin is playing the incel card to be the controversial and edgy white knight.

But I didn't see people complaining about Kate Upton at an Astros game or NFL cheerleaders or anything like that.

It's clear what the actual issue is, and it's not all on Taylor Swift. She's just such an iconic celebrity, albeit with a particular market, she sucks all the air out of the room and she becomes a distraction. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she's pretty or that she's a woman. I guarantee you put even a moderately famous really attractive woman in the audience and like 90% of the male audience won't complain, and half want her to get more screen time (because they're curious about her reactions of course ;)).

Taylor Swift going to a Chiefs game is more like Paul McCartney going to your daughter's wedding. That's all anybody's going to be talking about. If you don't want him to go it's not because you hate Paul McCartney or you're petty or vindictive. It's because a wedding is about the bride and groom, not Paul McCartney, so you don't want to make it about Paul McCartney.

Which brings me to by far the most obnoxious point Colin made: "I just want to watch football. I don't believe you." What the Hell are you talking about Colin? Get your head out of your ass. People turn on a football game because... wait for it... they want to watch football. Groundbreaking stuff, I know. The clown just glosses over the fact that he treated every game as though they have Super Bowl commercials. :D

And she does come across like she's just trying to support her man in going to these games. She's not "trying" to steal the spotlight or anything like that.

It's just a relationship that happens to be good for business and they're both milking it.

And she just has a tendency to suck all of this attention in a way that few others are capable of. To her credit, that's not looks, that's starpower. But it's irritating when you're just trying to watch a football game and it turns into a conversation on how big Taylor Swift is.

Your primary football audience doesn't like Taylor Swift. Your primary football audience doesn't really dislike Taylor Swift either. That's the point. She's not your product, the game is.

Dems are just jumping on this because they want to add to their coalition while simultaneously alienating Republicans. That's just Democratic playbook 101. They want the Swifties. Personally, I don't give a damn who individual celebrities vote for and they don't move the needle at all for me with respect to who I vote for.

Most people don't care that much.

The people who already were big fans typically weren't big football fans. Many have now entered football spaces because Taylor Swift has entered football spaces.

The people who weren't big fans before typically aren't big fans now. They either don't care, mildly like the story, or are mildly annoyed with the amount of attention she's taking away from the game itself.

Most people who care about this to the point that it's high on their radar typically are the people with a political interest in this. The people that think her support moves the needle politically one way or the other. And frankly, I think her influence (and most celebrity influence) is overrated in that regard, especially now.

My belief in the integrity of NFL football died forever with the non-called interference on the Rams that allowed them to "beat" the Saints five years ago.

The simple truth of the matter is the NFL controls the outcome of its own games. It is perfectly legal for them to do that. They are a "sports entertainment" business just like WWE, and they have no obligation to fans to deliver a legitimate outcome. This has been ruled in a court of law.

If you have a desperate need to believe it's real because you can't handle the idea of wasting so much of your life for so many years, you do you. I've faced up to the truth, and I can still watch it to kill time, but I'll never invest an ounce of hope or emotion in any of it again.

The Taylor Swift stuff is just to sell #87 Chiefs jerseys to women.

Ha! I didn’t realize it was Kelce in all his commercials until people here stated talking about it. Knew who was, of course, but I didn’t know his face. I do now.

Someday I guess I'm going to have to listen to a Taylor Swift song. I know I'm missing out, since you don't become a billionairess in the music industry unless you're the greatest talent to ever hit the music world, going back to David and his harp and all those wretched psalms he wrote. The one thing I find interesting about all the shots of TS at the games (I only watch Chiefs games in the usually futile hope that they lose) is the fact that there's some woman with her who she's always hugging after every big play. Does Travis know about that relationship?

The Eagles ran their trademark Brotherly Shove (essentially a QB sneak) play whenever it was 4th and short or whenever they were in the red zone near the goal line. The main reason the play had a high rate of success? Jason Kelce.

Swift may suck the air out of any room, but is that truly her fault for being the biggest star on the planet right now? No. And is she, Kelce, or the NFL doing anything wrong? Again, no.

Swift is doing what thousands of others WAGs (wives and girlfriends) are doing around the globe. Supporting their professional athlete men at the games. Ever since Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) began dating David Beckham, the British have devoted fan sites to famous WAGs. It's part of the sports culture.

Kelce certainly isn't doing anything wrong. He's still performing at a high level, and the Chiefs are still winning.

As for the NFL, they are a business. Can you blame them for exploiting Swift's stardom? Heck, if 1 in 100 Swifties become football fans because they are watching a Chiefs game to see Taylor, that's a heck of a ROI on less than 1 minute of air time per game.

The backlash is pathetic in my opinion. Let these people live their lives. If they want to date, and if Taylor wants to celebrate Travis' success, what's the issue? And don't expect the NFL not to exploit it to try and grow their business too. The NFL, after all, is a business.

They didn't even do that kind of nonsense during Jets games when Joe Namath was screwing half of the women in New York City.

Back in Namath's day all they had to do was show the crowd in the stands. About half of the crowd were women, all of whom Namath had slept with. There was no way to show them all individually.
