With :28 left and down 4… CTG called timeout just as Clayton launched an errant 3. Out of the timeout, Samuel rebounded his own blocked shot, got it back from Kugel … and scored. That timeout saved us!
Calling that timeout by Coach Golden just as Clayton was shooting a contested 3-pointer was very fortunate for Florida!
It was a great call. We've all spent the evening lauding the players, and rightly so, but coach deserves som big props for this teams performance. Our commitment to defending and improved foul shooting show he's focusing on improving weaknesses
I would rather Samuel take a few more of the baseline jumpers rather than those 3-point shot attempts. I have seen Samuels hit those jumpers before in some other games, so I think that those are a decent shots.
Who knew that Florida would have to score 94 points to pull off that win in Rupp Arena! Florida has now won 4-games in a row! This could be the start of something big.
Damn… Clayton’s corner 3 to put Florida up two with 1:30 left… wow! yes.. it’s 11:30 and im rewatching!
I’d just as soon hope he limits his shots from 2 feet and in. He is surprisingly adept right under the basket. I think he is a quick jumper. And, he plays hard. Just no 3 pointers, please, pretty please.
I thought Calipari had the best TO for us. Reeves had Condon on him at the top of the key for what was likely to be an automatic bucket but he inexplicably called a TO that allowed us to set up our D and we got a stop.
Agree. My first thought as it left his hand was "No Todd!!!" Then it bricked and I was like "I mean... GREAT call Todd!"
Another thing I liked that Coach Golden did was to substitute fairly freely in the first half. I think he's understanding that his guys have been tired at the end of games and needs to not push them too hard the whole game. Down the stretch, it was UF that had fresher legs for shooting threes and free throws. Super good job of coaching last night.
Is it possible Claytons shot was affected by the blowing of the whistle? He normally doesn’t miss that badly.
