This will seem like I’m posting it only bc we won… but we have seen some awful officiating at Rupp. Not tonite. At no point during the game was i lamenting how it was being called. In fact… I didn’t even notice the crew. If it was Pat Adams… I will feel silly. Lol!
There was that one possession late where their center literally pushed Samuel out of the way for the OR with no one else even in the lane so the whole world saw it, then missed the layup three times. So that was nice reffing karma. But overall, yeah it wasn’t terrible.
yes… I also thought they missed a pretty blatant over the back. But Pullin got away with an obvious push, so…. overall seemed like a fair whistle.
My boss is a Kentucky alum and fan. Tomorrow should be interesting. He’s almost as much as a sore loser as I am
A few missed calls, but that's to be expected. We got plenty of calls we usually don't get at Rupp. I agree. A well called game
I agree but 6-8 of those were intentional at the end so we were about even or down a couple if we take those out.
I remember looking about half way thru the second half and both teams had the same 6 fouls. Then Kentucky got a few more down the stretch and then we had to foul to conserve clock late in half. Thank God we did. Then in OT the tables were turned on UK having to foul us so it helped balance it out. Well done officials.
IMO, what made the refs play "fair" was we were aggressive shooting and driving to the basket like Kentucky does and got the calls the same way. It is when we play perimeter ball when we don't get the same calls.
I saw is get away with quite a few fouls during the game. There was one drive by Sheppard in which he hit the layup and Pullin takes his arm but no call. They showed the replay several times and I was surprised the commentators didn't mention it. There were a number of fouls on made buckets that weren't called each way. They also missed a travel on Clayton towards the end of the game. Overall, a fairly evenly called game.
