Maybe I could have worded it better, but it's done now. I apologize for the confusion. I have friends I have had for 30 years that are Bernie Sanders liberal and we get into some friendly debates and it's fun and at the end of the day it's fun.
What kind of good friendly debate starts with a person popping off a negative opinion about their opponent as a statement of fact? Comes off as trolling, not someone trying to have a conversation.
Every time I see this board referred to as a "cesspool" on the other boards, it usually comes from people who come by and make claims like Taylor Swift donated to Hamas or Hilary Invented AIDS, get proven wrong, and then run back to other boards, never to be seen again.
I can assure you, there is very little fun in this forum unless you speak with the same thought as the majority here. There are several posters that you can actually have a debate with, and I have and enjoyed opposing opinions in a debate, but for the most part if you don't agree you are attacked. Your facts are wrong, your source leans right, you're a trumpaloon, you belong to a cult. Disagreement is not met very well here with quite a few of the chronic posters.

Why defame a celebrity with such an egregious lie? What part of the OP is for debate? Do you agree she donated to Hamas? She does so much good, charitable work. I don't care about her politics. Even if I did, I certainly wouldn't spread horrible lies about her.

I am many decades and the wrong gender from being in the Swifties but I have read that she also donates VERY generously to food banks and programs to feed the hungry in most or all the cities where she appears. I am unable to name a single song that has contributed to making her a billionaire but She doesn’t seem like a horrible person at all.
Well. I have no reason to hate on TS. I have read some really good stuff that she has done, and I hope that it is true. I don't really care about her politics either. I do find it kind of crazy how nearly everyone has jumped on the band wagon. Either you love her or hate her, and I didn't ever think of her as a polarizing person before. To be honest though, TS and the coverage fits today's society. Half the people think it's great the good-looking billionaire gal hooks up with manly football star while the other half hate her for it. It doesn't move the needle for me one way or the other. GP did start out strong and remained strong in her dislike of TS but that is her choice. I guess she doesn't spend much time here on THFSG to realize you are going to take shots and some of them not very nice, especially if you start the conversation with a strong view. I guess she didn't realize the least used emoji on THFSG is the friendly one!!
