There was a very good reason for Billy to part with the safeties and linebackers coaches.

Clearly, replacing staff and below average performers is a great step. The question, can these new players fill the gaps and tackle? In the Kentucky game we had multiple players filling the wrong gaps and we were sliced and diced!!!

I also don’t think Jalen Kimber graded out very well at corner. Probably below Marshall and around 60.

Well… what we had the past few years clearly wasn’t working, so I’m on board with all changes, big and small. We lost some talent, but it’s not like we were good with them, and there were a lot of great defenses in college without them. I like the players we added in the offseason.

The changes were needed...so it's a step in the right direction, but I tend to go back to the same question: How many bonafide All SEC players do we have on D?

Not sure the answer to that is very encouraging when determining if "we're back".

But again, I think we took some steps in the right direction.

Kimber in the KY game, he didn’t even attempt to tackle.

    30 second mark

Princely is a loss. Still tons of talent at edge, but we’ll have to see how that works out. The rest of the departures look like they have been successfully replaced, if not upgraded.

I've posted on this also before; I isolated on Kimber in several games, and it looked to me like he was afraid to tackle. Just awful. Glad he is gone.
