Yep. You said "he broke the program". Two different things. His record at Utah, UF, and OSU speak for themselves. There really is no point in debating you ingrates, who never stop crying about him leaving.
Urban said the Florida program was broken and it was his fault. That’s not a debate, you’re just uninformed and lashing out like a child.
I’ve never seen the likes of what the Buckeyes are doing through the portal. Heard some analyst say something like, “We’re tired of losing to Michigan. So we’re going to buy everybody.”
It sounds like their roster will look like it does most years. Loaded. But with no trophy to show for it.
Agree with most of what you said but OSU job was not a higher pressure job than UF. At least not then. He’s been quoted many times saying the pressure in Columbus was any where near what it was in Gainesville.
I don’t get the Busckeyes hate. They’ve won five more natties than we have and the same number of natties in the past twenty years or so. But lest you miss my point, I wonder if anyone has assembled a recruiting + portal class like the Buckeyes have.
Kansas State’s starting QB transferring to add to two 5 star QBs throwing to two 5 star WRs and handing off to the top RB transfer, etc. ? I don’t remember anyone with that sort of quick infusion.
They more than anyone outside the SEC, have a established history of coming down to Florida and taking some of its best HS talent. Ohio State locating and securing talent shouldn't be new to anyone, that follows recruiting (and now NIL), in Florida.
Did you see how many they lost to the portal, before gaining in the portal? Yes, it was an impressive run this offseason. But their roster has been top 3 in talent for over a decade. They have what they’ve always had.
I don’t knock him for the year off. I’m sure he had more than his fair share of family issues to deal with. OSU was an easier path at the time.
Yeah I didn’t believe it for a pretty long time, but I do now. Although I still harbor a little resentment for some of his comments after he departed. But I still say put him in the ROH. He belongs there. incoming……
Figure out where the balance is for sure. I think so far it’s shown that you need both solid development from hs and being successful in the portal also. How successful you are at bringing in a developing hs is directly influential as to how hard you need to hit the portal. They are all looking at the dollars now to see where tgat balance lies. Pay for 3-5 years of development ( and for which positions) or buy pre developed talent and let’s go. I’m thinking the oline needs cohesion to a degree and you can get a corner or receiver to throw out there without creating as much confusion.
