I was thinking we got screwed in the cws and had replay begin the following year, but couldn’t remember the game or play.
The website does say: Special note: Funds raised from the 2024 Gators Softball First Pitch on the Diamond will go to directly support Softball student-athletes through the Florida Victorious Foundation. The FV Foundation is the 501(c)(3) non-profit arm of Florida Victorious focused on providing life-changing impact for Gator student-athletes and the UF community. I wish the word "solely" was in there somewhere. Yes, FV directly supports Softball student athletes, just as FV directly supports ALL student athletes. FV is all a bit murky. Is it possible to join/contribute to FV and support only softball? Surely FV has some formula whereby all sports are funded at a certain percentage of total contributions. Is it possible to donate funds outside of that allocution formula? I have to think that that's not the case, otherwise most contributors would probably say "football" "basketball" or "baseball," leave very little for the non-revenue sports.
12 had one of the sweetest swings I've ever seen. Be it softball or baseball, regardless of level. Effortless, and very technically sound. And deceivingly powerful because of that. You could hear it when she made contact. It's a magical sound. One of my top five SB Gators.
Francesca was great! Now she will be even better. She knows the Gator way and Tim trusts her to do the right things. I already see the dividends being paid off in the team reels. Next Saturday, I will meet her at the “First Pitch on the Diamond” event. I am thrilled at the prospect of meeting her.
And her being the TV/Radio color commentator for four years was a treat in itself. She loved the Gator Softball program. She helped to grow the program with me.
