I wonder how many Republicans and “conservatives” lecturing the forum about Iraq, and using that as some sort of false parallel to Ukraine - were all about the “Freedom Toast” in 2003-2004?

9 out of 10 Republicans supported that U.S. led invasion. Did we just find a bunch of peacelovers that call themselves conservatives (same ones that want civil war here lmao). Or is it that the average Republican is less enthusiastic about defending freedom than killing Arabs?

The tariffs are not permanent, unless China's attitude towards building its armies and conquering its neighbors is permanent.

You're in the bathroom shaving and your wife starts screaming from the backyard (through the open bathroom window) that she's drowning in the pool. Do you:

    a) Run to the backyard and get her out of the pool.

    b) Yell back, "I'll be out in a few minutes. I need to finish shaving!"

    or

    c) Close the window.

Trump wouldn't have lifted a finger to help Ukraine. I'm sure he partially blames Ukraine and Zelenskyy for Impeachment I and not getting any dirt on the Bidens.

because the pipelines were cut. that article is also discussing 2022 numbers. total gas imports went down even during that time frame and continue to decrease as us builds more lng export terminals and the eu adds renewables

the us cannot supply their demand. our export terminals are maxed out with existing contracts. it takes billions and years to build one but several are in process of construction or final permitting.

Made? Nah. No more than they *made* us piss away 10 Trillion dollars since the pandemic began.

But suffice it to say China didn't out of the blue step up to buy Russian Petro in spite of Western sanctions...

That was, shall we say.... *comtemplated* prior to Russia inviting herself into Urkraine's abode.

    ....see, therein lies the problem.

Ukraine is categorically NOT our wife, nor anything comparable.

More like--your own house is falling apart, with pests and critters infiltrating at will, and your own children and wife suffering from this massive, out of control pest infestation...

...and you don't give shit about your wifr and kids--you leave them to suffer the critter infestation, to go and help your slutty mistress accross town....

Now, can you help your slutty mistress, AND deal with the critter infesteation? Sure.

But your wife and kids, their needs...and dealing with the critter infestation... come first.

THEN you do what you can for the slutty misttress accross town.

Biden and the Dems = HELP THE SLUTTY MISTRESS FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!

Pubs: hell with that....let's get the critter infestation under contronl, THEN deal with the slutty mistress.

We gave Ukraine assurances when we convinced them to give up their nuclear arsenal. I don't expect this to mean anything to you, but our word should mean something. A country we gave security assurances to is far closer to being our wife than a "slutty mistress." Use of that phrase just shows how much disdain you have for innocent victims of Putin aggression and Putin's war crimes. This post just oozes contempt for people that have done nothing wrong. With people like you around, it is no wonder why murderous dictators are emboldened. Analogizing immigrants, whether legal or not, to "pests" and "critters" and their presence as an "infestation" is despicable. Most here, I suspect, would greatly prefer their presence to yours.

It stuns me how many Americans seem to be clueless about American foreign policy and whom are our friends, whom are our enemies,
and what the strategic foreign policy goals of this country have been since 1945. SMH

92 - Do you even KNOW why NATO was formed?

    Unreal.

Here I will save some folks the trouble:

    Source: Wikipedia

"The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created in 1949 by the United States, Canada, and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union. NATO was the first peacetime military alliance the United States entered into outside of the Western Hemisphere."

Why not? I’ve heard crazier conspiracies.

Obviously Xi wants a conflict that will drive up resource prices in China and provoke Western nations to unify against foreign aggression.

Yes, because Republicans, like everyone else, were lied to and believed in their leadership. That is the point. We are being lied to. This is 100% American adventurism. Biden and Nuland have been working on this for over a decade. That it came to a head in 2014 and 2022 is no mistake. Biden was Obama's point man on Ukraine in 2014. Educate yourself on how involved Victoria Nuland has been in Ukraine. Do not delude yourself into believing our spending billions in Ukraine pre-2014 wasn't part of some sort of 'plan.'

In any event, when the government begins lying to its people about billions of dollars, a war and the reasons behind said war, that's a dangerous situation. I don't care who the president is. Bush lied and it costs us thousands of lives and trillions of dollars we will never get back. We're looking at the same thing the further we get down the Ukrainian rabbit hole. If you think this is going to turn out well for us and we're going to conquer Russia, you're living in a dream world.

There are parallels between Iraq and Ukraine. There were no WMD in Iraq. There was no rapacious real estate gobbler in Russia.

I'm assuming this is tongue in cheek?

Obviously China is happy that Russia invaded Ukraine, but Russia being China's errand boy is a bit farcical.

You still don't understand. One is a life or death issue, as in, if you wait a while to deal with it, someone who shouldn't be dead, will be dead. The other is a mild inconvenience (or even a benefit!) to 99% of the population. Only 1% or less of the U.S. population lives close enough to the southern border to be threatened by snakeheads and drug smugglers. The vast majority of people coming across the border are not a critter infestation--they are here to pick your fruits and vegetables, de-bone your chicken and pork for the supermarket, and replace your roof. Yes, we need to improve the way our southern visitors come into the country, but no, it is not a top priority right now. Southern visitors have been coming into the U.S. for a couple hundreds years now, and we have had relatively few problems in the last 100 years. Thinking that stopping the influx will stop the flow of drugs into the country is delusional--the drugs will find another way into the country (submarine, boat, aircraft, Canada, etc.). On the other hand, a country that is fighting our war for us and enabling us to reduce defense spending if they win, desperately needs our help sooner rather than later. If we delay, they die. I would say that situation is much more urgent. World peace hangs in the balance. And that means somewhere down the line, your descendants (if you have any) may have to die in an overseas war just because you were too stubborn and bull-headed about the brown people coming across the southern border to care about world peace. Their last thought on earth might be: "Grandpa was so foolish--I really hate him for getting me killed!"

Not sure what your obsession with slutty mistresses is about, unless you are channeling your inner Donald Trump. It is a little disturbing that you don't know the difference between your wife and your slutty mistress. If it makes you feel any better, pretend it is the neighbor's daughter drowning in the pool.

What really bothers me is that some people are stupid enough to compare NATO's expansion into eastern Europe to Russia's expansion into eastern Europe. One of the two uses a pen and paper to persuade the signee to agree to a mutual defense agreement, and the other uses a gun (and missiles and artillery shells) to take your property and kill your family. I'm sorry, but if you're too stupid to see the difference between those two things, you should not allow yourself to vote or drive a car.

Y'all, Britain has a secret plan to send more Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine, so don't tell anyone about it.
