weird question, America first. But that requires supporting Ukraine. I know you don’t see it that way and that’s ok. But seriously, The US can support Ukraine AND pass immigration reform simultaneously but apparently republicans in congress can’t chew gum and govern at the same time so… shrug.

The only thing Biden changed at the border was ending Title 42. Which was a pandemic only order. It had to end.

Trump did jack slowing down undocumented immigration. He talked a good racist game, and spent billions on a boondoggle wall that slowed nobody down. But he accomplished nothing.

What will change? Actually, nothing, and come Spring, if unemployment is still low, stocks are still breaking records, and inflation still under control, voters won't want to risk change. And if interest rates start coming down again, Biden should have a very good incumbent bump.

Then there's the courtrooms. Trump gets convicted, he's done. Even an appearance where Trump testifies can hurt him.

Last, there could be down ballot initiatives that drive out voters. Arizona is very close to having an abortion initiative on the Nov ballot. That happens, it will be difficult for Trump to win.

 

Sorry, is this a monarchy? Does congress not get to design and vote on laws that govern this stuff? They don’t like the decisions Biden has made? Hr2 is coming through senate now - but god forbid it passes as is lol. Then democrats can bludgeon republicans over the head with it, when it, like everything else, doesn’t work. Honestly I’m not sure why democrats are dragging their feet. Just sign the stupid thing and move on. Yeah it’ll have devastating impacts on important industries but at least they can blame republicans for it… right? Am I going this right?

And for his racist rhetoric, the Libertarian CATO Institute said Trump accomplished zip when it came to illegal immigration. The wall was and is a boondoggle, and has accomplished nothing beneficial, unless you think more hurt immigrants that we need to pay for their care is a good thing.

I disagree with Biden's willing to negotiate on changing asylum laws. But Biden is compromising. Something Trump refused to do when it came to the border. Funny. Didn't you claim Trump was willing to work with Ds? Didn't happen. But when Biden is willing to compromise, you criticize him?

Still, it's the economy that usually decides elections with incumbents. And six months before election day is the general marker. If come Spring, markets are still up, unemployment still down, and inflation under control, Biden will be tough to beat. And near impossible if one of Trump's cases reaches court before October.

Just republicans?
So one side says, no deal unless we get Ukraine money.
The other side says no deal unless we secure the border.
Both sides don’t budge but you only blame the republicans. This is why we are broken. Too many people only want to see problems on the side they don’t agree with.

First, if it’s important to be able to say Biden’s policies in the border have not worked. Period. Reform is needed. And he made a mistake asking for Ukraine aid and putting in a request for more border funding as a “sweetener” because he then gave republicans ammunition to tie those things together. Which they have. And it’s something they’ve pushed in the media, this idea that we shouldn’t be spending money outside the us until we get our house in order. It’s ridiculous but it’s a key political win for them because they get to complain about Ukraine losing AND bludgeon Biden about the border.

so yeah, it’s their own narrative. And this idea that they’re willing to compromise is dumb. They already had a bill hr2 that was sent from congress to the senate and now they are suggesting hr2 doesn’t even go far enough which is bonkers. Honestly the senate should just pass it and Biden should sign it. Then when the border still is broken he can blame republicans instead and he can then get his Ukraine aid. I think democrats have totally misplayed this, but just to reiterate it’s the republicans that have created this narrative that they can somehow only do one thing at a time.
