I agree, remaining hopeful and sounding positive is important, although some struggle with the lack of production on the field! I understand their upset, but I do see gains. In 2024, the OL must absolutely be the strength of the offense. This, for some reason, has been a problem since Urban. The OL has killed the offense with penalties on critical downs, and the Gators, in the past, had a redzone problem!

Dewers White Label Scotch. When quality is just too damn expensive, buy and drink alright until you can't tell the difference. Buy it by the swimming pool size and save!

And one has an oc title. What they actually do at practice is more important than a title.

I think you posted the wrong chart. This one doesn’t have UF on it. :D

I don’t think they will be the strength by an stretch but maybe competent and less false starts and another half a second for Mertz would be nice.

While the general feel of this thread is disappointing, I’m not sure this article’s take is truly reflective of the situation in regards to the Center position. Florida is losing its “preferred” starting center. But injuries kept Eguakun from playing a lot of snaps. And when he did he wasn’t 100%.

The real question is, is Slaughter a center-sized (and athletic enough) center or is he less-than-ideal? Methinks he is less-than-ideal but may become more savvy. We shall see.

Not having slow guards play the "T" positions is going to be a huge start. The 2 that portal'd in will hopefully help in a big way. I personally still want the 2 OLC's to disappear & hire a spread OC.

If Slaughter goes to guard is there a viable center that you see on the roster?

Unfortunately, not that I am aware. Not that they aren't developing the position, just that I don't know of who would have been Plan C last year.

It seems that the consensus is that the OL personnel are non-athletic. So, to counter that, you need to be as technically sound as possible. It's time for the two OL coaches along with the new S&C coach to step up and get the players drilled to the point that everything they do is second nature. It will be very important for the S&C coach to not only strengthen the guys, he also needs to get the players to be more nimble and balanced on their feet. Also, getting the guys to have a nasty attitude goes a long way.
