Trump is fighting against the whole apparatus trying to stop him from being president. That’s literally HIS ONLY PLATFORM!!! That’s his message - vote me in so I can stay in. No substance, no inspiration, no … anything. Just Trump.

Trump has stated on the stump that he will find some way to negotiate to stay in office beyond 2028.

His lawyers in Colorado have stated that the portion of The Constitution that designates only 8 years in office can be ignored just like the no insurrectionists part.

Trump is planning to fire all civil service employees in the federal government and replace them with loyal Trumpers of which they already have a database of who gets what jobs ready to go.

    Wake up.

Yes, policy has NOTHING to do with it.

It's not like we received 4 years of Trump to know these very same people were screaming bloody murder over every Supreme Court pick, over every executive order, and over every policy decision.

But policy isn't sexy, policy doesn't motivate people to vote. What does motivate people is "they don't hate you because they hate me, they hate me because they hate you. Everything they're doing to me, they would do to you if given the opportunity. I'm standing between them and you so it doesn't come to that."

Perhaps you don't buy that pitch, but it's a much more appealing pitch than "I know I'm facing a bunch of federal indictments, but I'm going to lower taxes and appoint conservative judges." And such a pitch is more accurate than "Democracy is on the line in this election, because... January 6th."

Sorry, Trump only means what he says when what he says can be used against him. Just ask his critics raving about the classified documents case.

When Democrats like Barack Obama, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris say "unity" what they mean is "unity" in the authoritarian sense: by silence, intimidation, or both.

Not "unity" through compromise, learning to live together amicably, and settling our differences in a healthy fashion.

Outsider, I think I need this TDS thing explaining to me.

Isn't TDS just part of the criticising/insult flinging that both sides direct towards one another or is there a legitimate gripe?

Those who don't learn from history are failed to repeat it. Beer Hall Putsch, the Moncada Barracks, and Jan 6. What do they all have in common? They are failed attempts at overthrowing a government. Maybe you don't think Jan 6 was an insurrection, but ask yourself, what would have happened had the Trump supporters reached Pence? Pelosi? Others?

Know who failed at Beer Hall Putch? Hitler. Know who failed at Moncada? Castro. Both these later became world leaders, and Hitler was even elected. Want to know why Trump is dangerous and a threat to democracy? Because history tells us so. World leaders who fail at overthrowing a government, if they gain power, don't give it up easily. They already lost once. They never want to lose again. So they rig to ensure they don't lose.

Lefties and the media (redundant?) are enlivened when Jan 6’s occur in countries governed by right-of-center presidents. Pictured: Dec 23 Serbia …

If you're comparing Trump to Hitler or Castro, you are simply a moron.

"Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime."

Now, who do you associate more with that sort of mentality, Donald Trump or Joe Biden?

TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is the profoundly unhealthy obsession of many (most?) anti-Trump voters in the US. They can miraculously connect every discussion of any topic to Donald Trump and somehow blame him for everything "bad" in the US. They are capable of fabricating the most outlandish projections of what Trump will do if he is elected president in 2024. And, without factual knowledge, they denigrate anyone who has or will vote for Trump in 2024.

Personally .... I believe there are a few cases here on Too Woke for Swamp Gas that go beyond obsession ..... to addiction. They are addicted to their loathing of Donal Trump.

Hitler, known for the genocide of millions of Jews.

Trump, has a Jewish son-in-law who he has a great relationship with and brokered a peace deal in the Middle East. He is the greatest ally to the state of Israel in American history.

Biden, obfuscates morality on the issue and presents as a weak ally to the state of Israel. Ironically, putting the only Jewish state in the world at a far greater risk of extinction than anything Trump ever did.

Castro, known for locking up political opponents, rigging elections, nationalizing media, nationalizing industry, and seizing wealth.

Perhaps we shouldn't make that comparison, but if we're going to make that comparison, all of these tactics are more closely associated with the Biden Administration than Trump. Each and every single one of them.

This makes no sense to me. You are advocating to elect a person to be the president of the United States that, by your own admission: (a) You don’t listen to because he doesn’t mean what he says, (b) has no discernible platform, other than “Trump”, and (c) is the same guy you have stated before that you can’t stand and would never vote for him again. Where is the reason and logic?

What about the people that simply quote what Trump says? Word for word? Why is that “outlandish projections”? Put differently, when are we supposed to believe what Trump says, and when are we supposed to ignore his words? What’s the magic formula?
