West Virginia Bills would put ridiculous restrictions on Trans people

I mean, if it’s called “Drag Queen Story Hour” they aren’t exactly hiding it from anyone. The reason films are rated is so parents are aware of violent or sexualized content. Don’t think that’s at issue here. The parents are there on their own accord. I’m guessing the vast majority of the aggrieved turds who show up to intimidate the parents never had kids or are incel types.

I also doubt there is any M rated content at a “story hour”. It probably isn’t any more M rated than Mrs. Doubtfire. If any of the reading is M rated, that would be odd and should he noted.

This is certainly one of the dumber issues of our time. For one, how often and where do these “library story hour” things happen? Probably mostly in San Fran, and maybe rarely sprinkled around other places. Secondly, the parents who take their kids are obviously cool with it. Either because they see no issue, or maybe are teaching their kids acceptance. We need big guv to intervene? Doesn’t even seem constitutional for the gov, 1st amendment and all that.

 

The beauty pageant scene appears to sexualize children. I view that as far, far more creepy and wrong than the idea of a drag queen reading children’s books in a library. Although even with that perceived creepiness, it’s hard to justify using big guv to stop the practice. It’s the parents driving the show. So unless there’s evidence of child abuse, nothing for the govt to do. I’d opine if the “save the children” Q types want to find child abuse, those sorts of events are surely much more fertile ground than drag queen story hour.

I think in terms of “story hour” being performance it’s in the eye of the beholder. A lot of people say cheerleading sexualizes or objectifies women. Does that mean we should ban or demonize professional cheerleaders or dancers? How about big guv saying cheerleaders can’t be within 100 yards of children? I think most would find that absurd.

 

Did we as a society run out of important things to worry about? Or is it because people that used to just live their lives now want everyone to know what they are going through. This kind of thing never happened back when Clinton was president (or Bush).

 

Yes it’s all of that (they can’t just live their own lives).

If we go back to the 1960’s and the Dixiecrats:

They lost on civil rights.
They lost on segregation.
They lost on interracial marriage.
They are still battling gay marriage, but it’s a losing battle.

So attacking trans with bathroom laws and blockading drag queen story hour is like Custer’s last stand to conservative social warriors. Of course some of these sick bastids are trying to relitigate and re-open some of the other “lost” battles too (see women’s reproductive rights).

 

Anybody know where this guy is a drag queen at? The article doesn't say but since he wanted to corrupt his own daughter, what other explanation could there be?

Among the new details: Banks, 42, admitted to police that he wrote a letter to his 17-year-old daughter “insisting that she enter into a relationship with him and not date anyone else,” and that he got upset when he heard his mother and her friend talking about leaving with the daughter.

Also shot his daughter and mother, though not fatally, fatally shot one of his mother's friends, and shot at cops. He must really be into drag and gender nonconformity to act like that

LOL, any parent that would take their kids to drag queen shows are a lost cause anyway, no need to get all upset about it.

 

I wonder if their next law to protect kids from abuse will be to outlaw priests? It’s a much bigger market of abusers.

Catholic Priests Abused 1,000 Children in Pennsylvania, Report Says (Published 2018)

Bishops and other leaders of the Roman Catholic Church in Pennsylvania covered up child sexual abuse by more than 300 priests over a period of 70 years, persuading victims not to report the abuse and law enforcement not to investigate it, according to a searing report issued by a grand jury on Tuesday.

The report, which covered six of the state’s eight Catholic dioceses and found more than 1,000 identifiable victims, is the broadest examination yet by a government agency in the United States of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. The report said there are likely thousands more victims whose records were lost or who were too afraid to come forward.

It catalogs horrific instances of abuse: a priest who raped a young girl in the hospital after she had her tonsils out; a victim tied up and whipped with leather straps by a priest; and another priest who was allowed to stay in ministry after impregnating a young girl and arranging for her to have an abortion.

 

People incensed that a state is making it harder for boys to become girls are using the word “ridiculous.”
