Donay must be really good because I understood the article to mean that he would be the weekend 2-game guy - at least to start.

He has a big bat. I thought both of the other guys had a more consistent bat and did a better job keeping the ball in front of them when playing behind the dish. We’ll see. Day 1 plans can definitely be adjusted throughout the season.

Donay could slow the run with his ridiculous 80 arm.

Well from the dinner sounds like we might see Fisher and Peterson on Friday. I'll be watching to see where Heyman and Donay are playing mostly, while wondering how much Garrison gets to play catcher. Let's see if Evans is starting in RF like he should. And the big question is do we see any of Coppola?

I'll be posting a few comments here from practice tomorrow of any thing that makes me say Hhhhmmm as well as a follow up when I get home. I'll leave it to Gatorgal to give us all the PBP when she can. I do hope we get 4-5 innings of scrimmage to see 5-6 pitchers get their work in.

Can anyone confirm that Christian Rodriguez is going to have to have TJ surgery?

Welcome baseball fans to another year of spring practice. We are off to a slow start here at the Condron. The field is empty and the guys are tossing it around on the back turf area.

    Hhhhmmmm....
Most everyone was out on the field for warmup tosses and the last two that came out together was Peterson and Fisher. They left quickly after a few soft tosses to go get ready presumably.

Also of note, Coppola is no where to be found so far. He's not even on the field chatting with the others. He is on the roster list so no bigger worry for now.

Matherly, I saw Coppola run down to the bullpen with the other pitchers and catchers about 10 minutes ago. Had his glove with him! A good sign!

Yep Coppola joined the pitchers for a jog to the turf field and return. He also stood around during bunt coverage drills.

Bunt drills are over with the OF laying them down for the pitchers and infielders to cover.

Batting practice is next. Donay is first at the plate. I don't mean to sound crass but Brody reminds me of Tarzan Johnny Weissmuller that is. I am from Ocala by the way. Tarzan was a hero figure for many of us growing up.

Watching Cags take batting practice is like watching a man among boys. Hit several off the batter eye and several more in the parking lot.
By the way, Heyman almost as impressive! Could have a big year at the plate!

Cags hit 7 HRs, 3 off the batter's eye, 1 off back fence, 1 in the parking lot.

Donay hit 2 off batters eye, 1 over it.

Really impressed with Shelton going oppo line drive after line drive
