Another seemingly commonly held opinion that I have to push back on. UF first quarter

    UU 7 - 3 UF
    McN st 0 - 13 UF
    UT 7 - 6 UF
    Char 0 - 10 UF
    UK 16 - 0 UF
    VU 7 - 7 UF
    USC 14 - 10 UF
    UGA 10 - 7 UF
    Ark 14 - 14 UF
    LSU 7 - 7 UF
    Mizzou 3 - 7 UF
    FSU 0 - 0 UF

We averaged exactly 7 points in the first quarter. Take out the FCS school and Charlotte and it's even worse against teams with a pulse and not to mention with those exclusions we held the lead in exactly 1 game 7-3 against Mizzou. Accuse me of high expectations if you want, but none of this screams fast start.

There was a time this year when BN announced changes to the travel schedule and it was front page news because of how crap UF was to start road games.

So that would be great but someone please let me know what coach evaluates last years not so special teams and says...wow we did great and then comes back with shit storm 2.0 again with special teams and now year 3 were rolling with what? No coach worth a damn doesnt make changes to special teams already. Our special teams was worse than our defense...either year...and it takes a lot to be worse than our defense. It is baffling we havent moved in a different direction last year or this year...

both of their contracts expire 1/31/2024. (As does Juluke and Peterson).

Remains to be seen who gets an extension. Though Napier didn’t have to wait. But seems we always move super slow to save a few bucks when hiring assistant coaches.

I realize that but they didn’t lose an OL coach, talking about an OC was putting the cart before the horse

Lol, "Texas lost a QB midseason"......he missed about the same as Mertz AND UT had quality experienced backup vs UF lost their backup Miller for th entire season to injury. UT "wasn't playing from behind" partially because their schedule wasn't as difficult. Using those two points as your argument vs UT offense won't fly.

For me....I will continue to opine Todd Monken to be the best choice for Offensive Coordinator.

As I have said before......I would have thrown a pile of money at him at the end of the 2022 season, before he made his decision to leave Georgia for the Ravens.

Two time National Champions with Georgia.....and now has the Ravens at #1 in the NFL.

I don't expect us to get him, let alone even make the attempt to get him.

    A guy can dream through......

From what I saw of Miller there would have been just as big a drop off. I’m not sure he was even second string.

I bet Brian Johnson will be available soon. Iggles were awful so he’ll take the fall but I think they have culture issues. I like him.

I’ve never watched a single game of Brennan Marion but I would have seriously considered him. Or even Kade Bell. I think all signs point to Russ, but what’s that even mean? I also agree that OC isn’t the most pressing concern.

all that said, I’m not a fan of Napier the play caller. I don’t think we attack enough. The rules are made to attack.

Well you never really saw Miller healthy, regardless that was a minor aspect of the overall point

Was ecstatic when he left for Baltimore. And that move has been key to their season. That man can coach

The "chatter" out there is that Napier might still hire another assistant coach for who knows which position for the 2024 season. I would like the see a Zook type special teams coach. But as far as the OC position goes... I have no idea if he would entertain one especially this late in the process.

THIS was exactly what I was hoping for--thinking outside the box! If there are any big influencers on this site, an OC doesn't hurt BN, it makes him better! Having two OL coaches has NOT done a Damn thing for the Gators!!! I agree with Shane Matthews, BN's playcalling has been "fine." The Gators NEED MORE than "fine," though!

Totally agree with you! The Eagles have systemic issues, and Brian was the fall guy. Brian Johnson as OC, did a great job with Kyle Trask! BN should go after Brian. The Eagles fired him, and he is available.

SPOT ON!!! The playcalling has lacked a killer instinct and moves abysmally slow. Special Teams is equally concerning, as this article points out:
