I had some lady text me and I told her repeatedly that it was the wrong number and she didn't believe me. Apparently I had a daughter named Olivia and wanted ideas for a birthday present. I told her you can't go wrong with a Jar Jar Binks action figure.

Gotta think some of our "fishing pics" posters would fall for that. ;)

I kept my 352 area code for when I lived in Gainesville.

I don’t answer any calls from that area code. Works great to help me filter bs calls.

I bit one time. I texted back and forth for probably 30 mins. I posed as an elderly woman that was very confused about computers. My goal was to frustrate them into leaving the conversation, and I succeeded.

LOL! I think I must have fallen for it a few months back. Young lass calling looking for someone else.... sending me sexy pics, talking about feeling lonely and maybe hooking up, going to a party n such...

I told her I was married going on 20 years, had 4 kids, and proceeded to give her kind and polite fatherly advice about not giving out information to strangers, and how many scammers were out there looking to scam...

I was kinda proud of myself after the convo.

She must have gotten a helluva a laugh. :D

Get them all the time, and have to block each one

    Annoying

Yep my first cell phone was when I was living up in Northern VA. 703 area code. No reason for me to ever get a call from that area now so I do the same. Great filter.

I got one of those wrong numbers back around 1995 (land line). It was a honest wrong number call, and I did meet the woman... It went well.

She told me where she was trying to call (a sports bar nearby) and the number we very close to my number... honest wrong number.

But I would never do that on a cell phone wrong number... too many scams.

I had one going a few months back and they really threw me for a loop. “She” asked to video chat with me. I figure this is just part of the scam to try to build my trust and when I agree “she’d” find some way to get out of it at the last second. But lo and behold my phone starts ringing for a video chat. I obviously didn’t answer for a number of reasons.

I googled it afterwards and apparently they have some way of faking video chats. Can’t remember all the details but it’s low quality video and choppy or something like that.
