Bringing them into the SEC was a colossal blunder.

Expanding beyond USCe and Arkansas was the first mistake

Bama dynasty may be over with NIL becoming the primary driver of future success

Despite public statements, IMO this is exactly why Saban hung it up.

Alabama is and has been one of the poorest States in the Union. That hasn't stopped them from being successful in Football. I see no reason that NIL will change that now although it may add some new players into the mix that always had $$ but were squeamish in the way they spent it.

The amount may be more than they can afford.

Maybe. You live up in the Redneck Riviera amongst a lot of Bama fans, what's your take? Personally, I think they'll figure out a way to afford it, just like they've always done.

They’ve never paid like what will be required today. The under thevtable payments were much less. I doubt they can outbid Texas or many others.

There is no doubt there are richer programs and now that they don't have the GOAT on the sideline getting players to the NFL, it will be a more difficult row to hoe.

You don’t need to pay as much for players when you have the most dominant program over the past decade. Last night in Tampa Jalen Hurts was throwing to Julio Jones and Devonta Smith. SMH

Texas is in for a rude awakening. This ain’t the Big XII where there’s only OU to contend with. Y’all quickly forget the beating TCU took against UGA. Texas was lucky to catch Bama early breaking in their new QB this past year.

Texas won’t be able to swing their nuts around and control the conference like they did in the big12 and with the longhorn network, but they’re going to be a thorn.

They controlled the conference financially, but that didn’t really equate to success on the field as they’ve historically underachieved.
