A state prosecutor coordinating with a federal prosecutor? Who would have thought?
In fact, federal prosecutors are expected to coordinate with state and local law enforcement authorities. Coordination is not only not nefarious it's the expected norm.
From the ABA's guidance on the role of prosecutors:

d) Federal, state, and local prosecution offices should develop practices and procedures that encourage useful coordination with prosecutors within the jurisdiction and in other jurisdictions. Prosecutors should work to identify potential issues of conflict, coordinate with other prosecution offices in advance, and resolve inter-office disputes amicably and in the public interest.​

There is also similar guidance from the DOJ with respect to the role of federal prosecutors.

Although Steve may love ammo he's apparently not very knowledgeable on the coordination of State and Federal prosecutors and the use of state RICO statutes but then his intended audience is obviously low-information supporters of the defeated indicted former president.

 

Of course they consult with each other, it's ridiculous to think they wouldn't. I consulted with the US Attorney's Office frequently in my days as a state prosecutor. I can't fathom why anyone would even question that.

I'd also think any state would want run it by the White House before bringing charges against an ex-president.

The SC just needs to take this up and answer if the Orange traitor is eligible or not.

 

It’s in the constitution, so even though states are in charge of elections, eligibility is a federal matter. No? The relevant question is whether what Trump did was tantamount to rebellion. A yes or no question. If the answer is “yes, it was a rebellion”, then the question is as simple as other constitutional eligibility questions - such as the age requirement. Presumably the court system would intervene if a state tried to put a 27 year old on their Presidential ballot?

Seems to me the amendment itself was ill considered as written as there’s no federal agency or authority to declare eligibility under that clause (other than perhaps the Supreme Court ruling on a case by case basis). Apparantly it wasn’t really enforced fully even against former confederates. It’s a bit murky whether this clause can be applied here, and I doubt the Supreme Court will just “declare” him ineligible. Clearly Trump shouldn’t be eligible, but cowardiy actors failed to convict in the Senate. That was the cleanest and most obvious mechanism to deal with the criminal efforts around 1/6.

 

For state positions, I'd say no.

For Federal positions ... they sure should.

Even assuming that the allegations of inappropriate and unethical behavior on the part of Willis are accurate it still doesn't change the credibility of the evidence against Trump and friends that's the basis for the Georgia RICO case against the Orange One and his sycophantic co-defendants.

Cute reply except for the fact that it's not the Biden Administration that's prosecuting Trump in a Georgia state court pursuant to Georgia state RICO statute and considering the defendants in the case that have already pleaded guilty (can you say Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis and Kenneth Chesebro) and will most likely testify against the Orange One it doesn't look like Willis is losing that case.
