He will be under 11 by graduation.
Check this out about receiver, commit tank Hawkins:

Florida has coveted speed at wide receiver under Napier's leadership and none represent that quality better than Hawkins, who has a 4.25-second 40-yard dash and 6.69-second 60-meter, 10.37-second 100-meter and 21.48-second 200-meter dashes to his name.

Of recent it was Harvin, Demps, and Rainey. I think longer the distance Harvin probably wins beats them both. I remember Demps and Rainey raced one time and Demps lost if I recall. But Rainey always seemed to trip over his own feet come game time.

Who was it that was one of the best rabbit catchers down in the Glades? Those were some fun stories.

I'll never believe Rainey beat Demps, unless Demps pulled a hammy. Rainey got run down several times, Demps was never caught from behind, or from even for that matter. Hell I'd take Luis Murphy over Rainey.

With the ball in their hands, I’d take Harvin.

it doesn’t take blazing speed to catch rabbits, kids at Immokalee used to catch them, they were Immokalee fast, but that’s all.

Harvin could bench Rainey and Demps together.

    Totally different athletes

Still disappointed Demps, who was 60m collegiate record holder, never ran the 40m at NFL combine. I think it would be a record which may never be touched...probably 4.15-4.2 seconds. I still remember his kickoff return where everyone had him penned in at perfect angles and then no one even got within 5 yards of him as he ran it in for a td...there are no angles you can get on someone that fast. God I miss our old special teams....

Demps was the fastest Gator football player, period. End of discussion.

I wasn’t sure if this comment was serious or sarcasm. lol

Walk on qbs and preferred walk ons- every school has them. We need qbs due to our super low # of scholarship qbs. Hard to get good transfer qb to come sit at #3 with literally no shot to play/start. I put zero stock into the quality of the PWO cuz at most schools including UF they are no factor on game day.

the new qb we got from Colorado state- he has some experience as a starter but lost his job after 1 game in 2023. He likely has few options in the portal. Why not get a good degree and be part of an SEC program with a longshot chance to play vs sitting the bench at Colorado state? Mertz may not be ready for spring so need more than one scholarship recruit (Lagway) for the spring. This was a depth signing for UF.

It would be bizarro world if wr recruits we sign rated as top 300 ranked players were driving walk-on and back up qbs to Gainesville. lol

it should be that the signing of the national high school player of the year in qb DJ Lagway is pulling in 5 star wrs and more top 100 rated skill players. That is not happening so there is a big disconnect or fail somewhere in our process.

John Capel returned the 2nd half kickoff against Tennessee for a touchdown in 98 that was called back for stepping out of bounds by a couple inches. It was the biggest discrepancy of speed I had ever seen on the field at that time. He looked like he was jogging.

Demps was far and away the better player and he had freakish runs of his own.
