Its the same way I approached making SwampGas better. I didn’t try to make you a good poster overnight. It took years of culture change, and now look at you finally making a good post. I’m proud of my work, here.

Also Dabo Swinney and Mike Krzyzewski. Both likely would have been run out of town before reaching greatness these days.

At least one poster here is " holding on to receipts" to show after Napier fails. Most of us are pulling for him yes but definitely not all...

I'm amazed at the number of fans that won't point out the obvious. BN (imo) has failed in virtually every facet of the job except recruiting. Further, he comes across as not caring.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I'm pulling for the Gators. If Napier is the coach that leads us to greatness, then fantastic. If not, then I'll advocate getting a better coach for our team. Unless there is some personal animus outside the realm of college sports, then anyone that doesn't want whoever the current coach is to succeed wildly is just not a Gator fan.

So I can't believe I have to say this, but IN MY POST I said I know my sport isn't even 1% as competitive as SEC football.
So the first part of your post is so ridiculous. OF COURSE I KNOW THAT.

The point that does apply is that just as athletes can grow and develop over time, coaches can too.
It's ludicrous and frankly idiotic to think they can't.
That what a coach IS today, is what he will be forever. Which is how so many are acting.

So many coaches, from Saban to Spurrier to Dabo, improved a great deal over time.
Whether Napier can also is a valid question.

Yeah we can have our doubts/concerns about a coach's ability to succeed here but we should be supporting them and hoping they do. Doesn't mean you're a sunshine pumper if you are hoping for the best and recognize the positive steps along the way. Doesn't mean we don't see the issues but why harp incessantly and even worse, "hold on to receipts " while expecting them to fail in order to validate your perspective. "Your" in a general sense, not you.

Nonsense. I go into every season expecting >/= 10 wins. Every season. Without fail.

I'm incurably bullish on the Gators.

In fact, I go into every single game ever, expecting the Gators to win.

Zero exceptions, ever. I do not believe the Gators will lose, until after they have lost. Just the way I'm wired.

I don't see why that is something to be disparaged. I don't see the honor in tipping your king before the first pawn is moved, even if your playing Kasparov or Magnus Carlsen or Capablanca or Bobby Fischer...

    C'est la vie.

Wait, so your opinion is the "obvious"? Your post makes no sense. You said you're amazed at the number of fans who don't "point out the obvious," which you go to say "is your opinion" that CBN has failed at every facet. You must think highly of yourself to think a large number of fans should share your opinion

CBN's contract which, has a huge buyout, leads me to believe this was all decided before the hire. IMO, i have to believe that this was not solely a product of Scott Strickland making this call. I have to think the some of the major boosters had to agree with this..

Considering the above, IMO he has 4-5 years to get us on course. IMO also, the only hot seat he is on is in the mind of those stating it. Unless you or I were in on the original discussions, no one can really no the answer to how this all came about so all the hot seat talk is BS at this point.

Nothing wrong with your take. You plainly know all we have is a bunch of mercenaries on the revenue generating teams and you choose to show up to games and cheer? That is definitely your prerogative.

Methinks you are going to be in the minority. Non-alumnus? I can see where the brand keeps him engaged. Us alumni? I think I am more correct than not. All I see and hear is whing - why can't we do what Bama, UGa, LSU, Auburn, and Old Miss are doing - without some context. Once it manifests and the results speak for themselves, I can see where the whining stops and reality hits them hard.

I won't speak to K (too long ago) but I recall both Swinney and Beamer at Va Tech. Both programs went through some tough times and expenses with their coaching choices and in both instances, neither university was emotionally (and financially) prepared to do "the proper thing". And so, they WERE given time to correct their misguided ideas.

IMO, UF is not in that category yet. If they swing and miss again, the next round perhaps. I will only say that all this happened WAY before NIL and the insane amounts of TV revenue. The inmates are now running the asylum. It is what it is.

I think that is a misunderstanding of how the hot seat works. The media defines the hot seat and Napier will be squarely on one of the hottest seats in college football starting 2024 and it will only get hotter unless his team is good enough to take him off it.

Now whether Stricklin and his cohorts can stand the by-product (a hot seat of his own) of that hot seat is a different issue entirely.

And if I may "go there", besides the spitting incident, I can plausibly say that many instances his "take" is to coach scared, even though he made overtures to the contrary. And so, if not scared then oblivious. And he has done what to correct it? Still waiting for the "he gets it" offensive hire...and firings.

Stubborn is all that is left. That IS Mus-take and Mullen territory.
