Yeah you’re right I guess I did not think about that but I think a lot of people are not counting Warner as a transfer and he is. Love that we have years with him if needed, and he solidifies the room. The kid from Colorado State and I’m extremely happy about our quarterback room
Yeah, Slackman was a huge get and you were 100% correct everybody wanted him. Trust me I haven’t forgot about him but did misinterpret. I think Slackman is a major win for us in so many ways especially like that we get an older guy, with experience, that seems like a super smart, young man. I think some missed the importance of adding at least one if not two more QB to the room and that’s where I think Warner was actually a pretty big pick up. If we get the Colorado state kid for the first time in a long time I’ll be happy with our quarterback depth.
we can take a handful now or a handful later, but it doesn’t really matter. We can cool off now or we can cool off later
People aren't counting him because he is a walkon. UF has a lot of really solid PWO and he is one, but those guys generally are not counted when ranking recruiting or transfer classes
That wouldn't be the first time they tampered with players... either committed to other schools or currently enrolled in other schools. Texas is one big cheating school. They're another Bama, Auburn, UGA level POS athletic department.
That's right. I guess Napier thinks this is a position he can have a technician instead of a recruiter because of his own background as a receivers coach, and he will recruit that position. I say that because he has chosen two in a row that were not considered strong recruiters.
I hear you! But the results from the portal so far at WR is weak..someone like Bond or Stewart would be what this team needs to blow it open.
I support this. Billy G can coach receivers. Plenty of proof of that. As long as staff as a whole can keep the recruits coming in
you know what i think some fans are forgetting as well… 6-7 6-7 5-7 we talk money and NIL etc…but the bottom line is…records/results matter. If we’re being completely objective, we’re kinda overachieving recruiting wise if you base it off our record over the last 3 seasons
I realize money plays a large role in recruiting now but our on-field performance is right up there...as is Napier's warm seat (do players want to commit to a coach that might not be there in a year). Now the good news -- what will the recruiting class look like if we start winning and there is excitement and optimism around the program?!?!?! Game on. I'm predicting seven wins this year. Mertz, improved OL, improved D and everyone is a year older. Throw in an improved S&C program and we're winning seven games.
