I think Strong also had a seasoned co-DC on Gator staff that was a great recruiter and went on to coach on the Ravens NFL staff, Michigan and Ohio State.

 

In that situation, I would've rushed enough to flush him beyond the LOS. Highly unlikely he would've been able to make it all the way to the EZ from the 31 but a guy like Lamar Jackson or Daniels might've been able to do it.

 

Mattison moved on after the 2007 season, so he wasn’t there for the 2008 season. So both Mattison and Strong were on staff for the 2007 defense, but only Strong for the 2008 defense.

 

Had anything official been released by UF on this hire?

 

Maybe you did not check out to see if Auburn had players opting out their bowl game.
If you had done so, you would of noticed that Auburn entered this game without their starting Cornerbacks, and starting Defensive Tackle. Also, one of their starting Safety's was nursing a pulled hamstring.

 

Doesn't explain the New Mexico St. Game or 4th and 31. But I hope you guys are right. Our defense last year was terrible. Any improvement will help.

 

This Auburn fans video starts off with the discussion of RR. Seems they liked him and thought he was good, but also thought that there was some culture differences, and that perhaps he quit rather being fired and having that show on his résumé.

I don’t know why he was fired from Baylor when he had a fairly decent defense there.

no announcement = no hire. At this point, is that ship has sailed. Guess CBN didn’t want to bring locker room problems or RR demanded a raise from his $1.4M aubrin salary

 

Frankly, except for Florida moving in a new direction for the S&C, there haven’t be any announcements for any of the new coaches other than the local or internet service that covers the Gators. Florida just isn’t on the National interest at this time. Even the moves in and out at Vandy rated coverage from ESPNdot com and Football Scoop dot com.

 

Here is what is critical:
He will shore up those run fits by the LBs ! They were horrific in our defense the last few years. I can’t believe at this level our staff can’t coach this . Our guys will fill wrong gaps , free lance , won’t play the counter properly .. We looked like a squad that was not coached or players not giving a crap.
This guy I believe will get our guys in proper fits .
