Pre-game discussion: Beating Tennessee in Knoxville

When we hit our 3s at a respectable rate, it opens up drives to the hoop. Our bigs have shown the ability to set really good screens for this to happen too. I feel comfortable with Clayton, Richard, and Pullin shooting 3s, and Riley needs to take it when it's wide open.
In short, if we don't make some 3s at UT, we can't win. But right now I think we have a chance if we control the glass.
Imma draw up some ballplays for Coach. We gon' run the ol' picket fence at 'em. Don't get caught watchin' the paint dry.

 

When Micah and Tyrese rack up fouls, our Plan B isn't high-level enough. Is the UT game one where we really need them out of foul trouble, more than others?

 

So is this a green light for Samuel to hoist 3's or dribble drive? (sarcasm)

 

I don’t have any doubt we can put up 80 in Knoxville. My worry is that we can easily give up 100.

 

To beat Tennessee, we need to maintain our rebounding advantage, reduce costly turnovers, and hit 75% of our free throws. If we do that and lose, I’d be surprised.

 

we beat Ark. at home now we are going to beat Tenn at their place. Maybe if we played them at home. Tenn will shoot way too any foul shots.

He swished one last night but I only want Tyrese taking 3s if it's late in the shot clock and he's wide open. And his dribble drive worked against mid-to-low-majors but hasn't worked against the high-majors at all. Too many good athletes in the SEC to let him get away with that.

 

One of the young turks here called me "old man," so I figured I'd run with it.

 

We will need our version of a Dane Bradshaw to win this one. That sucker KILLED us against the Vols a couple of times.

 

With UT looking at a game against Bama after our game this might be a trap game for them.

 

This one could get a tad rough around the hoop and be prepared for that ref crew.. So, I'd say make your free throws when you get the opportunity.

 

You expect a bad whistle on the road unless you are UK. I had to watch the end of the UK vs Aggies game because I don't have ESPNU and missed about 14 minutes of our first half. Holy crap did the refs do everything possible to give UK that game.

 

Going to be a good game. CONDON ISgetting better each game, and Kugel hopefully had his iam back game.
Pullin and Clayton as good as any backcourt.
Hard to win on the road but think we can take a win home if we shoot 35% or better from 3..

 

Perhaps physically and we sure are fortunate to have Pullin running the show this year. I don't think we are as good as any backcourt skillwise, considering the numerous TOs from careless passes. I don't remember having a backcourt as tall and physical as this one, though. Pullin and Clayton Jr. will not get pushed around.

 

Did ya'll know that the toothbrush was invented in Eastern Tennessee? If it had been invented anywhere else it would have been called a teethbrush.
