Just abstaining. Not signing up for their service. Blame the NFL and NBC. I hope the backlash is high and the ratings low.
Going back to yelling at clouds, once it warms up.

    I get it free because I'm a Comcast/Xfinity customer.

It’s $5.99/month, for me, plus you have to remember to cancel. It’s more principle for me. I went the route @FearNoSpear suggested above (albeit slightly different dns name).

I’d just do radio otherwise. By the way, why do people who paid to watch this still have to watch ads? Lol.

LOL, I can assure you, I am not. We don't subscribe. But the price you name isn't the price that was presented to us. That just adds to the complexity of what makes it different and/or what other tricks need to be applied for different users in different markets.

But it's not as much about the $2 vs. $6, it's the hassle, it's the *another subscription* type deal. I'm platformed out, there's more content than we're subscribed to than I could ever wish for (let alone have the time to view it).

    Go GATORS!

  9. We all know the cable tv model is dying and I agree with you but things are just getting started.

  10. Apparently there is a free tier of Peacock and a paid tier. I logged into Peacock to watch the game, saw the pricing, and deleted the app entirely. I forgot what show I was watching on the free version but I decided I do not want to be tempted with yet another subscription. I am becoming one of those “get off my lawn” guys.

It won't be long before the ESPN network of channels will only be able to be viewed with a paid subscription separate from whatever service any of us are using - cable, satellite, YouTubeTV, Fubo, etc. Since Disney owns them and Hulu, they will only be part of the Hulu+ Live TV package without a separate subscription. I read a year ago Disney was sonsidering doing this and it's just a matter of time.

I don’t believe peacock has a free teir anymore. They got rid of that a while ago. They do have 2 tiers. I believe 1 tier is commercials and one is commercial free although, for the football game you’ll get commercials. To get the $2 deal, which gets you commercials, just google for the deal. Not that hard to find. I subscribed to watch Yellowstone but have seen lots of other things on there.

The good news is I found the game on you tube. The bad news it buffered so much I quit and followed what was going on at NFL.com. No way am I paying for Peacock to watch one game.

Doubtful. They need the money from all the other services in order to pay their insane deals for broadcast rights, plus they get the opportunity to bend over all the non Disney companies every time their contracts come up for renewal.

  17. Ah. Yellowstone. That must be what my wife was watching. We either had a free option for Yellowstone or stopped paying for it after the show ended. I am not sure.
