I know you meant this in a mocking way but for the women part you are already right. A lot Blacks and Hispanics have taken a White Women out of the dating market for a White man.

This actually hits close to home. Several years ago there was a white woman I was very interested but she was in a serious relationship with a Hispanic man.

More recently there was a new white woman at my company (not my specific department but in another department). She’s 32 and very attractive. On Facebook her status is single and I found myself very interested in her. Alas I find out she’s in a relationship with a Hispanic man and has been in a relationship with him for 2 years.

So while it’s a lighter topic than the core topic yes in some ways they are stealing our women.

    Are you Native American?

In case you missed a year or two of history.:

This is an amazing post. It has elements of keeping the blood pure and thoughts that you're somehow better than your minority competitors wrapped up in one pathetic post. I suspect all of those women would prefer to be alone and single if not dating their current partners than the alternative you suggested.

Yes I am. So again tell me what multi culturalism does specifically to make the U.S. better? What has a Black person done that a White person wouldn’t have been able to do? What has a Hispanic person done for the country that a White person for the country wouldn’t have been able to do?

Good God, the blatant racism! But, no, we can't call out the MAGAts for the blatant racists they are, can we?

    Lighten up, Francis.

Enlightenment, or, as you call it, having diversity forced upon the population, is something that successful countries are expected to embrace and move toward. A population can't be expected to be successful without all of its members attempting to contribute to the economy. And giving everyone the opportunity to succeed is just the right thing to do. The other countries that you mentioned are nowhere near as advanced as the U.S. and western European countries are. They have bigger problems holding them back--limited natural resources, corruption, a lack of infrastructure, etc. Pressure on a country to diversify has to come from within--even as the world's most powerful country, we cannot generally force other countries to diversify other than to express disapproval if a country oppresses a segment of its own population. The best policy is to let the rest of the world see how successful our country is and how diversity has helped that process along. (You do know that the U.S. is currently the most successful nation in the world right now, don't you?)

In the U.S., all races have made contributions, much more so than any other country in the world. Black people have excelled in sports, entertainment, the military (the Tuskegee Airmen were some of the best pilots in WWII, for example), inventing (George Washington Carver, for example), oratory (e.g., Frederick Douglas, Martin Luther King) and much more. It's not a matter of whether someone of another race could do the things that black people did--obviously, it is possible. Think of that statement in reverse--is it possible that a black person could do the same thing a white person has done? The answer is yes. A black person could have been the first to land on the moon, if they were given the same opportunities as white people were. They might have invented the light bulb, the radio, or the computer, if they were given the education and the opportunity.

Before you dismiss me as another left winger, please recognize that I am a conservative. Ask anyone who has seen my posts over the last 20 years, and they will confirm it. I came of age during the Reagan administration, and I think he is (by far) the best president in the last 75 years. I don't like all of Biden's policies, but I voted for him in 2020 (first democrat I voted for in a presidential election), because I felt that Trump was moderately incompetent, unethical, and ignorant. Biden has better advisors than Trump did, and he does a better job of listening to them. I usually do a write-in protest vote when neither candidate seems up to the job to me (which I did in 2016), but I voted for Biden in 2020 because Trump was a disaster.

And we've always had people afraid of change pushing back against cultures they weren't comfortable with. We've had anti-Irish movements, anti-Italian movements, anti-Polish movements, anti-Catholic movements, pretty much everything that wasn't WASP has had scared people fighting against what they saw as the end of their way of life. 247 yeas later and we're still here. Maybe this time they will be right, but I'm not betting on it.

Oppressor vs. oppressed schema only focuses on criticizing those who are perceived to be the oppressors. Even when the oppressed do something worth criticizing that is laid at the feet of oppressors. Somehow it is the oppressors’ fault.

In this dispensation the oppressors are seen as members of groups who have perceived power. Of course the angel of oppressor vs. oppressed animus and its wrath passes over those white Americans who vote Democrat, rant about Trump and MAGA on social media, and post favorably towards LGBTQ and BLM on social media.

How do you know for sure? If there’s nothing else we can agree on I’m sure we can agree that most of us here are fans of the Gators.

How about a country without football? Without college sports? That’s the norm in Hispanic countries. I would hate to see that yet in the distant future it is a distinct possibility.

Many of you all would be surprised to know that I live in Florida and not far from a big Hispanic community. That Hispanic community has a restaurant I go to at least once a week (not Hispanic food though). Driving there I go right by a big sports park.

That sports park is primo still used by Hispanic families and their children. Do you know what I see there? A lot of soccer being played. For many Hispanics soccer is a way of life. Do you know what I don’t see there? Footballs being thrown around. I definitely don’t see kids with a basketball shooting hoops like I did when I was their age.

While sports in the grand scheme of things isn’t that important it is a reminder to me each week how different a Hispanic majority U.S. would be in so many ways.

Culturally it’s a goldmine. Two major ones right off the top of my head:

Music - African Americans invented jazz, blues, soul, rock & roll, R&B and rap.

Food - we have the best Cuban, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Caribbean (that’s where BBQ originated), Mexican foods readily available in this country - creole cuisine was invented in Louisiana from a melange of French, Spanish and West Indies cuisines.

The original post makes a few valid points, but I disagree that diversity is some sort of inevitable death knell for our country. The issue is not diversity, but rather, how certain politicians seek to hijack that agenda to their own personal gain and to the detriment of our country as a whole. For example, I believe immigration is vital for our economic prosperity in several ways. If we really want to boost the nation's economic prowess though, we're far better off expanding and investing more deeply in a robust merit-based immigration system than we are to allow anyone who's brave enough to break the law to cross the border undocumented and set roots here.

We could also explore ways to subsidize the birth rate here in the U.S. at the same time. It has become very expensive to have children and so people are holding off.

The original poster's point is not totally lost. We're far better off with either of the options I mentioned than we are letting any jackhole with a pulse dilute our talent pool. The United States is what it is because a group of very intelligent men coalesced around an idea.

There you have it a person claiming to be conservative but voting for Biden. Lol, and you say Trump is ignorant. Are you ashamed that you voted for this disaster? A true conservative would be.

You said it better than I ever could. Despite what many here will believe I’m not anti immigrant. But I want immigration control, including a switch to a merit based immigration system. I also want annual limits so that the amount of immigrants is manageable and does not overwhelm state and federal resources. Despite what many here will say we’re not getting the best and brightest. The immigrants coming here are not doctors and scientists for the most part.

I support immigration and being a multi cultural country. Unlike many on this board though I don’t think diversity just for diversity is a good thing. I value diversity of thought far more than “that person checks a diversity box, let’s let them into the country” or “that person checks a diversity box, let’s hire them for no other reason.”

Diversity and being a multi cultural country can be beneficial to the U.S. if done right. But diversity and being multi cultural isn’t just inherently a good thing like most here believe. While diversity can be a strength if done right, if done wrong (which I believe it was is happening currently in the U.S.) then it will absolutely destroy a country.
