And to think they did talk to Lanning and Norvell and both wanted to stay where they are at, which for Norvell I was very surprised given all the issues he has with the ACC go bye-bye if he jumped to the SEC. But maybe he's smart enough that to follow Saban is like Jimbo jumping to the SEC and never attaining what he had at FSU.

So with Saban gone, I'm sure uga is licking their chops about the prospect of going on a run of their own (beyond what they have already done).
In the near term, who is going to get in their way? We have to seriously step up our game to be more than the speedbump we've been the last couple of years. That leaves other sec programs like:
    Tenn?
    LSU?
    Oklahoma?
    Texas?
    ATM?
    Ole Miss? ( probably not)
Bama with the new coach? (thinking they fall back some, but maybe that's just wishful thinking).
Really don't want to see uga go on a Saban-esque run.

Can't remember the video but they mentioned that the Dodge Charger is being discontinued.

Now you know why he retired.

Thank you for leaving coach Saban. Your departure looks like the aftermath of the Hood vs Bismarck encounter and Alabama is the Hood.

While I recognize that Alabama is a very strong program, with resources on par or superior to anybody, as a casual follower of what is happening
this is begginning to look like a a complete demolition of what Saban built.

Sayin just declared for the portal, UGA and FSU must have field offices near Tuscaloosa, hell the Mongols would blush at how those programs are
    "sacking" and "pillaging" Bama.

While I am sure Bama will be good, history suggests that Bama will be headed on the downward side of the "success" bell curve for awhile.
I will cry no tears, I well remember the days leading up to the 2009 SEC championship, the Finebaum article about UF/Bama, the "party" before
the game and the stinker that UF put up that day.

At the time, I really thought "UF / Urban" were on the cusp of a decade of dominance. Of course Urban went nuts, and Bama took the throne.
I was not expecting Bama to be so dominant. I've had enough of them, let them eat dirt for awhile.

Unfortunately we still have to contend with UGA, not to mention the up and comers like Texas and LSU.

In the meantime I am looking forward to Bama getting a little payback from the rest of the conference.

Saban got the hell out of dodge, on his charger, before the NCAA NIL investigation came.

Like him or not, the guy isn't stupid. He knew what was coming.

    Take note:

“Byrne had his staff research the college head-coaching hires over the past 25 years from the winningest 25 programs during that span.…..our studies showed that 75% of the time you're basically hiring a Group of 5 head coach, Power 5 coordinator or NFL coordinator…….”

"Talent vs. Devotion....they are two completely different things!"

I wonder how much of this is impacting our team?

    ============

Joel Klatt talked about the article released about Nick Saban being disappointed with the Alabama Crimson Tide players handling the loss to the Michigan Wolverines in the Rose Bowl. Saban explained why he was frustrated by players wanting assurances of playing time and focusing on pay. Joel went on to explain how culture impacts a team’s attitude and how NIL has affected college football. He analyzed how being dedicated and highly talented teams reach championships.

I wonder if Nick asked Bama how much his pay was gonna be if he quit the Dolphins and went to coach for them?
