Looks like Montrell Johnson is back for one more year. I'm glad he decided to stay for his senior year... graduates in December.

“To the Gator fans, I just want y’all to know you’re going to get everything out of me this year. And I appreciate y’all through everything, thick and thin,” Johnson said.

Johnson has led UF in rushing and averaged 5.4 yards per carry in each of the last two years, totaling 817 yards and five touchdowns in 2023 after 841 yards and 10 TDs in 2022.

Johnson was more involved in the passing game this past season, catching 30 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown. He had three 100-yard rushing performances as well.

Following his junior season, he met with his mother back home in New Orleans and weighed his options on entering the NFL Draft or coming back to school to earn his degree.

He's a better player than people realize. I don't think he gets nearly the credit he deserves.

We need to see development in the Oline or it doesn't matter who is running the ball

Agreed. But judging by the efforts by Napier to recruit o-line, he gets it.

Oh thank god. Not that the young guns aren’t talented, but with the loss of ETN, Johnson was our only chance to have a proven back return.

Montrell has been a stable and productive player for us last two years. I think our O line is going to be much better this year and Montrell is going to be even better than his last two seasons. He has really been a model of consistency for us. So glad we have him for another year.
Hoping Gator legacy Trauyan Webb busts it loose this year too.

I believe there were some rumors that's a reason why ETN transferred was b/c Johnson was staying. I honestly believe Webb replaces ETN w/o a hitch.

Plus Kirby apparently told ETN that he can step right in as the starter at UGA. "Say no more, Coach!"

Good for Johnson and good for UF. He plays hard and has a lot of talent. Just need to develop and offensive line that can open some cracks for him.

Kinda reminds me of Damion Pierce. Hope he gets to fulfill his opportunity. Getting the degree is his best decision.

Agree. Pretty disappointing to read some posts from a handful that say he is not an SEC caliber RB. I know every fan base is full of dumbasses but we seem to have more than our fair share.

Love this kid, to me he definitely has some Errict Rhett in him. There’s only one Rhett, but at the same time this is the closest thing we’ve had to him and he is poised for a monster year, hopefully

I like how you think and love Webb. I know his touches have been limited, but as far as a straight downhill back, I think he is very good there. I love that he doesn’t dance and gets straight to the hole.

Yes, for a true freshman with limited touches I feel he did a great job when his number was called. Plus CC is supposed to be really talented as well!

He could have easily been a 1,000 yard RB the past two years. Wouldn’t surprised me if he gets there this year.
I still wish Ricky would have been targeted a few more times to push him over 1,000. It’s been a few years for us
