C'mon ... even the biggest Joe Biden supporter must admit that .... to the extend Hunter's financial obligations are paid by other friends and business associates .... Joe Biden is relieved of the burden of bailing his only living son out of trouble. To the extent Hunter received $millions$ from others, Joe Biden directly benefitted from those loans, gifts, etc.; saved him $millions$ in "bail out $$' to Hunter.

 

I'm convinced. Hunter should never hold public office, work for the government and I'm never voting for him.

The fact is, Hunter is a private citizen, and has been his entire life. If someone wants to buy Hunter's artwork, what business is it of the government's to interfere? None. How Hunter pays his bills is none of Joe's business, unless Hunter is breaking laws and/or involving Joe in the business.

 

I'm with AZ - if Hunter or Joe did anything wrong or illegal then hold them accountable. Quite frankly though, I don't have much interest in hearing about this from the likes of Comer or others who look the other way when it comes to Trump/Kushner and things that are 10000x more egregious. Trump just yesterday admitted on TV that he got paid $8 million directly to his companies from foreign governments but sure let's talk about a painting Hunter Biden sold. I won't hold my breath waiting for that hearing from Comer.

Further, what does that statement even mean? Did the money go directly to Donald Trump or to some of his businesses for services rendered?

 

Don't know if he admitted it or not, but it's widely reported - including by right leaning media. And it's $7.8M. Not getting into the discussion about whether or not it's a problem.

If Hunter is guilty of anything other than those crimes with which he has been charged, it's conning Ukrainians and Chinese to believe that he could influence his father and the best example is the Chinese businessman who apparently showered Hunter with cash and gifts in 2018 when Old Joe held no public office and the Republicans held the White House and both Houses of Congress and it's also very possible that Joe's brother did the same and like Hunter is there is absolutely no evidence that he ever did.

Trump and his business are synonymous. It's not a public Corp where revenue is going to shareholders - it goes directly to him and his kids.

You'll say oh it's just his hotel. Is he supposed to sell hotel? Here's why it matters. If you're a diplomat from another country who is meeting with President Trump, are you going to risk not staying at his hotel and having him ask "where are you staying while you're here?" Don't even try to pretend like he's not petty, vindictive man who wouldn't hold that against them if they said they stayed at the Omni or whatever.

And if $8 million is irrelevant to him then why does be send so many fundraising emails to get money from small donors? Why are his legal bills being paid by his PAC? Because $8 million matters, even to Trump. And that's just the $8 million we know about.

 

Over 4 years some Trump owned companies generated $7.8million in revenues from these foreign entities. But how much did these entities net after expenses on the revenues ….. 10% or $780K? How much did the Trump conglomerate net from this $780K after deducting corporate overheads?
More importantly,

1. What part did Trump personally play in the negotiation of the at issue leases and rentals? Do you have any information?
2. How much did the Trump organizations receive from these foreign entities prior to the four years of his presidency? Do you know if there was any significant change in the gross revenues received?
3. How much did the Trump organization receive from these foreign entities during the three years after his term as president? Do you know if there has been a meaningful change in the annual rate of $1.95million?
4. To the extent any of the at issue $7.8million came from long-term real estate leases with these foreign entities that were in existence prior to Trump’s presidency ….. should the Trump organization been required to negotiate a termination (buy out) of those lease agreements because they involved these foreign entities?
5. During the Trump presidency the Trump organization is reported to have generated $2.4 billion in revenues. Is $7.8million even material to the organization .... 0.033%?

Many people and media organizations have jumped all over this subject ….. with little knowledge of the matter …… and with no objectivity and honesty in investigating, understanding, and reporting on it. Quite likely it’s far too complex for most to understand but it makes a nice sound bite for the left’s rank and file.

In a match of who is shadier Hunter Biden or Donald Trump you have arguments on both sides. Joe Biden is not even in the competition as he provided the most transparent presidential finance data in history.

I admit I haven’t followed the Hunter case closely at all. But is anyone saying the paintings aren’t selling for those prices because of who his father is?

 

More reasons why I will never vote Hunter Biden and if having a relative who monetized the presidency should be disqualified, there is one candidate who would definitely meets that condition considering this family member was actually an advisor to the president/presidential candidate while the said president was in office. I don't think that condition applies to Hunter during Joe's terms as president or vice president.
