Whom will be the next Football Head Coach of Alabama? Kalen DeBoer has been hired!

No way Washington could offer him a similar contract to what he's going to get from Alabama. And if he doesn't make it (following behind a legend seldom works out), he'll leave there a very rich man. I like what he did with the Huskies, but I can't wish him luck at Bama. I want the Gators to succeed over all other SEC teams.

He brought in a lot of the talent that won at Washington. He arguably took over a worse team than Napier.

Washington also had the #1 SOS

While it is the PAC (Utah did dominate us) we’ve been losing to far worse teams.

But more importantly DeBoer has a history of sustained dominance. That matters. He’s a top 5 CFB coach.

Not sure where you saw that but Washington had the 31st hardest strength of schedule to our 4th. I just don’t buy they took over a worse situation. For decades the PAC 10/12 has been a weak conference very similar to the ACC. Does it have a 1 or 2 good teams? Absolutely. Can they beat someone any given Saturday? Any thing can happen. I don’t care what you say, the SEC is a different animal. If Washington plays our schedule do they have the same success? If we play Washington’s schedule do we have the same results? I’m willing to bet that Washington doesn’t go any where near undefeated in the SEC. Again, I’m not saying he’s not a good coach and not going to succeed at Bama, I just don’t think comparing Florida to Washington is a good way to say which coach is better. Any mid-level SEC team is going to have a better record playing in the PAC12 vs SEC

 

Yeah if it doesn't work out, he can go back to a Washington type job anytime he wants. No brainer move on his part here.

The guy can coach. Sure anything can happen, but with out a crystal ball I feel it’s about as solid a hire as Bama could have made.

It’s a good hire. The key is can he recruit at an elite level. But if he’s a good coach he may not need to recruit like Saban. Comparing this to our hire in 2011 when we got muscuamp? Jeremy Foley should have been fired for that..

 

Dude has been successful at every stop. Hell of a hire.
