    Watched Pod Up with Shane Matthews yesteday with Brent Baird. (My favorite guest on Shane's podcast).

    Brent reported that Michigan had:
    Six (6) total turnovers on offense in the recently completed season.
    AND 65 total penalties .....................

    That my friends is WINNING football. Say what you want about Harbaugh but stats like those.................... well stats like those mean you win championships.

    Not a Michigan fan but they had a heck of a team this year, signal stealing or not.

    And waiting with bated breath to see if the NCAA actually sanctions their champion for 'alleged' recruiting violations.

    Penix had his worst game of the year or it would have at least been close in the championship game. He was banged up going in, but damn, woulda shoulda coulda!

    He got hurt during the game as well.
    Guy is a warrior. I was hoping they would pull him. I was seriously worried he would get carted off.
    Hope he makes it in the NFL. When healthy, he is as accurate as I have ever seen.

    Michigan isn't going to be sanctioned for "recruiting" violations. I don't think that is an issue at this point. The sign stealing, however, is still out there.

    When you don’t get called for holding (several ones missed on Monday and see Alabama), you tend to win a lot of games.

    I don't disagree however I'm not sure I would use Bama as an example of a team that was hurt by holding calls (not being called).
    I base that on reading, on this very forum, dozens of times, how the gumps hardly EVER get called for holding, especially on the offensive line.

    On the other side of things is a defense which seemed to only generate about 6 turnovers all season. I’m not sure what that number is but it’s low

    I’d love to know how many missed tackles their defense had. Watching them tackle in the playoffs I was impressed, they hardly missed.

    Gee EE, UF has probably had SINGLE GAMES, when they got 6 turnovers, in the past.

    Just an unacceptable defensive stat and helps explain only 5 wins in 23.

    Big whatever you call it now is a conservative offense conference. They don't sling it all over the field. Ball control is typical. That may explain it.

    2008 we were generating about 4 turnovers most games.

    This past year believe we had a total of 7.
