I mean, even better, Trump's lawyers argument means Biden can just shoot Trump in the head and can't be prosecuted.

The Trump team argument is so stupid that the only thing that makes sense is any feeble excuse to get it the SC where Trump is hoping/expecting payoff.

Yeah, but remember, Biden really isn’t president so immunity doesn’t apply to him. Trump is also still in charge of the military, except when it applies to things like the Afghanistan withdrawal, then all of a sudden it is Biden’s fault and he’s back in charge again. The way the goalposts get moved on the regular to justify Trump’s behavior is mind numbing, lol.

I’m betting he won’t actually testify- except outside the courtroom to the press.

Because his lawyers said it was unfair to restrict his closing argument to issues relevant to the proceeding.

To be clear. He wasn't going to testify, he was going to make a closing argument. The judge initially said OK, but then Trump's legal eagles balked when the judge said he would have to abide by the normal rules that apply to a closing.

my crystal ball says he will offer Haley his support for a pardon after she wins the nomination.

my only hope is shge can't pardon him in UGA or the other state cases pending false electors (Az, Mi, ??)

He will need to suffer significant defeats in primaries for him to do this.

He never was going to. He would have been subject to cross examination if he had.

pub party going broke on a national level. pubs are going to let MAGA destroy their party

Donald Trump Finds Himself Financially Hamstrung (msn.com)

Alack of funds could hamper Donald Trump's effort to get reelected to the White House in 2024, with recently filed figures showing that the Republican National Committee (RNC) has less than half the funds as its Democratic counterpart, while the former president's Save America political action committee has spent millions on legal fees.

The RNC figures, recently disclosed to the Federal Election Committee (FEC), showed the body had just $9.96 million in its war chest as of November 30, lower than at the same point in any year since 2016 and dramatically below the $63.23 million it had in November 2019. By contrast, the Democratic National Committee reported having $20.5 million available as America heads into a crunch election year.

In a further blow to his 2024 campaign finances FEC filings from Trump's Save America PAC, analyzed by the Associated Press in October, found it had paid just under $37 million to law firms and attorneys since January 2022, accounting for more than half its total expenditure over the period.

Analysis of judge’s 'brutal order' shows how 'punishing' E. Jean Carroll trial will be for Trump (msn.com)

"With Donald Trump's second rape defamation trial only one week away," Pagliery explains, "a federal judge has rewarded the billionaire's unceasing legal insolence and delusional defense strategy with a brutal order laying out just how punishing the court battle is going to be. Until recently, the former president's lawyers had been preparing for the upcoming defamation trial as if the first one never happened — seeing it as a chance to rewrite history and try to clear Trump's name after a jury, last year, concluded he sexually assaulted the journalist E. Jean Carroll decades ago."

In the order, Kaplan wrote that "the material facts concerning the alleged sexual assault" against Carroll "already have been determined, and this trial will not be a 'do over' of the previous trial."

Kaplan, the Daily Beast reporter notes, has "reiterated that the jury will merely be deciding how badly to reprimand Trump for dragging Carroll's name through the mud." The judge's order, according to Pagliery, "clarified that Trump will have the obligation — but not the right — to remain silent about nearly everything the billionaire intended to say in court."

"This new jury will see the most damning evidence of Trump's misogyny, from the 'Access Hollywood' tape in which he gloats about how he can 'grab them by the pussy' to the videotaped deposition where he remarks that stars get away with sexual assault 'unfortunately — or fortunately," Pagliery points out. "The previous iteration of this case dealt with the defamatory denials Trump made after leaving office, a trial that cost him $5 million in damages, which he apparently paid."
