100% true, especially in the summer in Florida. I typically need 2 battery packs for the front yard and one for the back, and they get hot while using them so it isn't like they can recharge right away. In contrast, while my electric one was down, I could mow both front and back multiple times without having to add gas from a 2 gallon tank that I filled up once and used for 6 months.

Weird ... I can weed eat, hedge trim, blow off the driveway and sidewalks, and run the sidewalk edger DeWalt just came out with on charge from one of their mid sized 20v batteries, I think its a 5ah ... that's for a cookie cutter subdivision lot ...

The gas hedge trimmer will do my yard twice without having to refill

Yeah I have 2 6Ah and 2 5Ah batteries I spread between my mower, weed whacker/edger, and leaf blower. The mower definitely uses the most, and I've already had one die on me and get replaced after Lowe's lost it when I brought it back for repair. My lot is a bit bigger than a small subdivision lot though.

My older EGO does. My son bought a new one that handles St. Augustine much better. In fact one can get a double-bladed mulcher to really work well. On the new model, that is.

Nah. It's my dad's 4 stroke with a Honda engine that I borrowed while mine was down. Non-ethanol gas is the only thing I do to it but otherwise it starts easy and runs fine. I'd add gas to the mower every 3 mows or so so its not like it's truly just sitting there for 6 months without use.

Mine's a newer model but not the double bladed, just single blade self propelled. That said, from what I understand it is pretty easy to upgrade it to double blade so I will probably do that, but even the double bladed Honda gas mower struggles at times if I miss a week in the summer when using a mulch setting so I don't think it's a cure-all, nor is it purely an electric vs gas problem.

That’ what I use in our mower and motorcycles. Last purchase of non-ethanol was $4.19/gal.

I do like my EGO but I also overlap when mowing due to the struggle with thick grass, as you stated. Fortunately it is vey light so it's like pushing a vacuum cleaner over carpet .
