We are doing very well so far and I would expect two more this weekend at least in yam, and probably Weisman. Don’t underscore the Weisman pick up at all as he is a quality quarterback, and we definitely need more in the room.
It’s like those LB of yesteryear who couldn’t get in here and went and started for Oklahoma/ Nebraska…. Fond memories for us boomers
Is anyone else surprised Simonds, Weston and Fraziars haven't hit the portal? They are going to be Sr's and will have a very limited role next year. I have heard they are great kids and team players ... but I'm not sure that matters in the new era of college football. Also, will Deuce Spurlock have a role on the team next year? Will he be around in the fall? It seems those that aren't on the two-deep will probably get pushed out.
I think the norm is going to be take 30 kids every year and weed out the 5-10 non contributors to that class. Like tge GE policy under John Welch …trim the fat and fire the lowest 10% every year. This is what UGA is doing…I wonder if this rewards recruiting rankings more than talent evaluation…for example just recruit the top 300 kids and sign 30. Whoever doesn’t perform can hit the portal..
I'm not surprised the Mullen kids that are glued to the bench aren't leaving. @apkgator @ETGator are better served to answer and could correct me if wrong, but like I think some of them COULD be (i'm spit balling) kept around because although they aren't getting PT, they work hard, stay out of trouble, are good academically, and are probably locker room leaders
With Nunnery leaving now have three open slots… As I said a week ago attrition will continue to keep happening. Thinking at least 3-4 more guys, if not more, transfer. Billy is at nine portal transfers right now and I think we will see quite a few more with most being now in the spring obviously.
If they are Srs. then they are probably waiting until they graduate in May since the roster doesn't have to be at 85 until the day Fall drills begin.
This guy was at least a decent backup player. 3 LB's gone (although 2 were poor) on the weakest position on the whole team is cause for concern.
True that on the lack of passing in service academy football. But, how does an Air Force Academy kid transfer to another school? I know they have loosened up the rules on hitting the NFL and deferring their 6-year service commitment, but transfer would imply leaving the academy and the service altogether.
