8:30pm on FS1. Purdue is #1 and Illinois is #9. Game is at Purdue and the Boilermakers are a 10pt fave. Illinois, however, is solid and defeated the only team to beat Purdue by 30. I will be rooting for Illinois, but it's pretty tough to beat #1 at their crib.
Illinois is good, but their star player, Terrence Shannon, likely is gone permanently. He was a 1st-team All-American level player. There is a big drop off to the next best player on the team.
Who do we root for in terms of the Gators NET? Forget that. Anybody that beats FSU is a friend of ours.
Purdue turned around and got SPANKED by Nebraska, which appears to be a competitive program for the first time in decades.
