Once again, someone needs to explain to FSU fans that the CFP was supposed to be 12 teams this year and that the ACC commissioner voted to keep it at 4 teams. If it was 12 teams, they would have been in and might have won a game or two.
What else would you expect from a fan base that somehow thinks they belonged anywhere but the toilet bowl.
What else would I expect? A couple of rapes, assaults, car thefts, burglaries, and shoplifting arrests.
They are really endearing themselves to the SEC for an invite. Sankey slammed them in the most polite way possible. Hell will freeze over before they step foot in this conference. And I love it.
While I don't disagree with you in totality, fsu isn't new to this behavior. Look at their actions towards Winston's accuser, their fans destroyed players cars after a loss, defending their rogue players under Jimbo. So yes, the Sun Belt is definitely where they belong.
FSU managed to turn a darn good season into a fiasco. Their 12-1 season was marred by the poor decision making of the ACC NOT to have a 12 team playoff in 23. Then of course, you had the martyr's screaming they "was robbed", seemingly forgetting that FSU and the ACC, like everyone else, were participating in a system that only allowed four playoff teams. Close games, lower level competition, an ACC that was "down" by most metrics, and then Travis getting hurt resulted in them being left out. Complaining is not unresonable, death threats are an entirely different thing. FSU would do well to remember Bowdens decison to avoid the SEC. That decision put them in HOW MANY National Championship games? So when that decision finally costs them..........they go bonkers?
Sad nature of sports, politics etc. Adults can't act like adults and take the high road. Let others be their voice if they were truly wronged. When the swindle in the Swamp happened every university's sports media had a piece on how screwed over florida got by the refs. We complained to a point but the country did the leg work because everyone saw how unjust it was. That's not the case here. They have kicked and screamed at every turn with little to no support from anyone else.
I would be interested to know which two teams they would have beaten in the top 12. With Travis they may have won 1 game but certainly not two. Without him they wouldn't have gotten past the first game.
It all started when they efforted to honor Winston. They were losing 13-0 to North Alabama (3-7, FCS) with Travis even before he got hurt. Team was a shell of itself, and they even had players bail on a potential AP national title (still in play before they lost to Georgia). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
When you go a-courtin’ it’s always a good idea to fire up your fan base to create an absolute national spectacle of themselves. You know, pander to the clowns that don’t show up to games, but do constantly and consistently whine more than a Napa vineyard. Of course when wooing another conference, it’s always a good idea to demonstrate that you’re willing to sue the conference that you’re in. Yeah, that’s smart, that’ll work, that’s the ticket.
If there is a natural cesspool in Florida it is Tallahassee. Imagine having to coexist in a city of Noles and Politicians with a lot of cross-breeding between the two. This is not new in any way. Initially, Bowden was no worse than many other coaches. But after losing to Oklahoma a couple of times, dropping six in a row to us, and having to deal with the Schnellenberger/Johnson juggernaut Ole Bobby sold his soul to the devil. He even hired Mickey Andrews, the devil’s son himself away from Pell.
I think once they are able to reconcile the fact the most they can ever achieve in life is a school for clowns, then the sky’s pretty much the limit for how far they can debase themselves
Nah. Travis and a full strength defense would have been a legitimate contender. FSU averaged nearly 460 yards/game With Travis, but half the yards without him. They struggled to beat US with our weak defense and backup QB, for crying out loud! The whining was bad enough, but the quitting on the team was what damned them. Yes, our players bailed on us before our bowl games with OU and Oregon State, but FSU had something to prove, and they blew it badly...
With Travis they barely beat some teams this year (BC and Clemson come to mind). With Travis and their full team would not have beaten Mich, Bama, GA, or Texas and maybe Ohio St assuming they had their full teams as well. A good game would have been FSU and Missouri or Ole Piss. They would have beaten Penn St.
