I was looking up Tampa’s stats, and this one shocked me. As a backup quarterback, Kyle only attempted one pass all season. One. It appears the Bucs ran a trick play, as a receiver also gets credit for attempting a pass. Those were the only two throws all year by someone other than Baker Mayfield. That’s pretty crazy. The times I watched them, Baker never left the game, regardless of the score. I was really hoping to see Kyle get more reps this year, even if it were in garbage time.
Or, if he likes getting paid $1.4M a year to hold a clipboard then do that. I personally want to watch him play, but I would understand if he wants to keep waiting his turn while working for a head coach that seems pretty cool.
As loyal as Trask is, he is liable to stay put. But it sure would be nice to watch him play. The guy deserves a chance.
Bucs never scored enough to be having garbage time. We kicked 3 field goals against a crappy defense on Sunday. Yippee.
Baker goes down early in the second quarter next Monday and KT leads a comeback win over the Eagles and shocks the world by beating the Niners the next weekend, completing 78% of his passes and tossing 4td and one pick (tipped ball). The Bucs lose to the Boys in the NFCCG, but not before Trask shows his stripes and gets traded to the Jets next year, beats out Rodgers in preseason and wins 2 SBs for the Jets before retiring and being a first round HOFer. It all starts Monday.
The BUCS don't exactly create opportunities for him to come in. Much like the Gators and max this year.
Reminds me of Steve Spurrier. Drafted by 49ers behind John Brodie their starting QB. He sits and punts. Then Brodie gets hurt. Now it's SOS time. He leads 49ers to Division title, only to be benched by nit wit coach Dick Nolan. Brodie starts. 49ers lose.
